Desirable

Proven experience (8+ years) in enterprise architecture, solution design, and technical leadership roles
Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams
In-depth knowledge of architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies
Excellent understanding of cloud technologies, microservices, APIs, and modern architecture patterns
Expertise in industry standard security and compliance requirements (SOC II, ISO, etc.)
Experience with project management tooling (e.g. Confluence, Jira) and methodologies (agile, kanban)
Experience using engineering tools; python, powershell, sql, jupyter, awscli, github, RESTful APIs, MS graphAPI
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at various levels
Strategic mindset with the ability to align technology strategies with business goals
Previous experience in the technology industry or SaaS/cloud solutions is highly desirable

What the job involves

As the Director of Architecture at Pax8, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology landscape
Reporting directly to the VP of Technical Governance, you will be responsible for overseeing the Enterprise Architecture Team, ensuring the alignment of our technical strategies with business objectives
You will lead a team of seasoned architects as well as a small team of QA engineers, guiding their efforts to design robust and scalable solutions that drive innovation, efficiency, and long-term growth
Strategic Leadership- Collaborate closely with senior leaders to define and execute Pax8's technology vision, strategy and roadmaps
Team Management- Lead, mentor and inspire a team of skilled architects, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration
Solution Design- Provide expert guidance and oversight to architects in designing and reviewing complex, scalable and innovative technology solutions that align with business goals
Governance- Establish and enforce architecture governance processes, ensuring compliance with architectural standards, data and security requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Technology Evaluation- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to make informed recommendations and decisions regarding technology adoption
Collaboration- Support alignment between platform and system owners through domain driven design principles
Drive your own personal development and performance improvements by participating in learning paths on Elev8, taking part in Pax8 L&D programs, receiving peer or manager coaching, taking on stretch projects or on the job training

Cloud computing facilitates access to software products without having the computer power required to use them, presenting great opportunities for enterprises to benefit from cutting-edge software. However, managing subscriptions to cloud products can be a convoluted process unique to each software product, presenting the need for a unified accessibility solution.

Pax8 provides an online marketplace for cloud-based software, allowing businesses to order, bill, manage, and provision cloud products within a single place. The marketplace contains a curated catalogue of cloud providers, a license management dashboard, demo infrastructure and tools for billing and invoicing, ultimately ensuring that users do not need to navigate outside the platform to manage their cloud software inventory.

Whilst many of the services provided by Pax8 are already included in cloud software applications, the company has made the smart move of partnering with software providers such as Bam Boom Cloud to unify all management tools into a single platform. By ensuring companies can browse, purchase, and manage cloud solutions within the marketplace, the company aims to increase accessibility and minimise complexities associated with cloud computing.
