Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience in payroll and revenue accounting along with the ability to handle complex tasks independently
- Minimum of 5 years of multi-state payroll experience
- International payroll processing experience a plus
- Experience with HRIS systems, ADP experience required
- Payroll certification (e.g., CPP or equivalent) a plus
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and customer billing
- Experience with account software, including NetSuite, a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
What the job involves
- We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-driven, and experienced Payroll and Revenue Accountant to join our small but mighty Finance & Accounting team
- This individual will be responsible for full-cycle payroll administration and compliance in a multi-state payroll environment, as well as managing revenue recognition, accounts receivable and customer billing processes with accuracy and efficiency
- Payroll Administration to support our US and Global operations:
- Administer full-cycle payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payroll submission (ADP & Vistra)
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations in a multi-state environment
- Manage employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes to compensation or benefits
- Assist the People Operations with benefits enrollment and other related activities
- Liaise with 401k administrator
- Work with external auditors on the 401k annual audit
- Assist employees with questions about their wages, taxes and/or deductions
- Process reports to analyze payroll data and record payroll related journal entries
- Monitor payroll inbox and own all communications related to payroll
- Revenue Accounting:
- Own the full cycle accounts receivable process including customer onboarding, customer invoicing including uploading invoices to customer platforms, billing schedules, sales tax compliance and filings
- Manage cash applications in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy of all customer payments and financial records
- Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) by reviewing contracts, maintaining deferred revenue schedules and supporting month-end close
- Partner cross-functionally with Revenue Operations, Customer Success and other departments to resolve billing issues and ensure proper documentation
- Utilize NetSuite to record transactions, generate reports and maintain accurate financial records
- Monitor AR email inbox and own all communications related to accounts receivable
- Support and implement process improvement and automation projects
