Role
Who you are
- A hands-on builder who’s excited to create structure from scratch and make things better every time you touch them. You think systematically

What the job involves
- In this role, you’ll be the first dedicated People Operations hire at Imbue, owning and evolving the systems, processes, and programs that support our team, so they can focus on doing their best work
- From onboarding to offboarding, compliance to compensation, you’ll be at the center of building a thoughtful and scalable foundation for how we work and grow together
- Working closely with the Operations team and partnering across the company, you’ll shape the team member experience with a strong focus on operational excellence, culture, and care
- You’ll be hands-on in the early days, streamlining what’s already in place, setting up what’s missing, and helping us continue to build the kind of workplace we’re proud to be part of as we scale
- Own and improve our onboarding experience end-to-end, from pre-start logistics to first-week programming, ensuring every new hire feels welcomed, equipped to be successful, and connected from day one
- Own and continuously refine key company processes, including offboarding, leave tracking, benefits administration, immigration, equity and cap table management, and more
- Maintain and update personnel policies and documentation to stay compliant with employment laws across multiple U.S. states, partnering with legal when needed
- Take over our visa and immigration process, working closely with external counsel and internal team members. Build a clear, scalable pathway for future international hires
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that strengthen our culture, ranging from people programs and office strategy to company-wide events and internal communications. You’ll translate insights (from team member feedback and pulse surveys) into action, driving initiatives that reflect our values and help our team thrive

Our take
Since the widened attention placed on generative AIs such as Chat GPT, it seems that investors have intensified their interest in general intelligence. Imbue is one of the most recent AI research and training companies to step into the limelight after it achieved unicorn status in a $200 million Series B funding round in 2023.
With competition including the likes of OpenAI and Anthropic, Imbue researches and improves the reasoning of AI models. Its focus on foundational AI means that its training has a wide range of lucrative applications. Using a full-stack approach (essentially building its tech from scratch) enables the creation of feedback loops that gradually develop even better AI models.
