Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of professional development experience with Python—you bring expertise to the table
- Strong background in data processing and extracting insights from large datasets to drive decision-making
- Familiarity with essential libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and more to streamline your workflows
- Proven experience in creating data architectures and developing ETL pipelines for efficient data management
- Advanced knowledge of Python development libraries, particularly Django, to build robust applications
- Deep understanding of software design principles to ensure quality and maintainability in your work
- Excellent communication skills—you can articulate complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively
- High ownership mentality—you take pride in your work and drive projects to completion
- A true team player, egoless and empathetic, who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Fluent in English, able to engage in technical discussions with ease
- Based in the European Time Zone (UTC+0 / UTC+2) to align with our team’s schedules

- Hands-on experience with:
- Airflow or similar tools for orchestration
- Snowflake (and Snowpark), AWS RDS (Postgres), and DocumentDB (MongoDB)
- ECS & Fargate for container management
- Celery & RabbitMQ for task management
- DataDog and SonarQube for monitoring and quality assurance

- As a (Senior) Python Data Engineer at RoomPriceGenie, you'll step into an exciting, fast-paced role at a rapidly growing B2B SaaS company. You'll take on diverse and impactful responsibilities that drive our success, including:
- Collaborate with a small team of experienced developers using Python and Django to deliver innovative solutions
- Design and build automated ETL data pipelines that streamline data flow and processing
- Develop and maintain a robust codebase for efficient data processing—your work will be integral to our operations
- Foster a strong engineering organization and vibrant development culture within your team—let's grow together!
- Evolve our architecture to seamlessly scale with the increasing demands of users, features, and data
- Partner closely with Product and Design teams, taking full ownership of projects from conception to post-deployment in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Serve as an Individual Contributor, reporting directly to the Head of Product and the CTO, where your insights will shape our technical vision

Setting and managing room rates is a constant headache for small and medium-sized hotels. Even slight pricing errors can make the difference between profit and loss, and without expert knowledge, they're often left navigating this crucial aspect of their business blindfolded.
RoomPriceGenie's solution simplifies this process by providing an automated pricing system that leverages data analysis to optimise rates. By analysing data from up to 500 nearby properties, it allows hotel managers, even those without prior experience in price management systems, to make informed decisions and maximise revenue.
