Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of sales experience selling to Fortune 1000 senior leadership
- Experience selling into Education entities with knowledge of purchasing cooperatives and tax exemption requirements
- Drive and accelerate spend adoption by advising customers on best practices for using ezCater solutions
- Experience selling to procurement and/or supply chain roles
- Expert use of G-Suite, CRMs (e.g. Salesforce.com) and other systems
- Experience owning customer facing communication including leading in-person or virtual customer meetings, product demonstrations, or trainings
- Demonstrated success identifying, prioritizing, developing, and growing a book of Strategic customer accounts
What the job involves
- As a Strategic Account Executive, Education, at ezCater, you will be essential in driving revenue and fostering strong client relationships within your assigned book of 40 to 60 prioritized accounts, specific to the Education Vertical
- Your role will involve creating and executing detailed account development plans aimed at acquiring new orderers, locations, and encouraging product adoption while retaining and maximizing existing spend
- You will manage account relationships end-to-end, ensuring full utilization of ezCater’s solutions by leveraging product specialists when needed
- Your ability to identify new sales opportunities within your book of business, both through self-prospecting and handling inbound leads, will be key in meeting sales targets
- Through strategic account engagement, you will help customers implement solutions tailored to industry-specific procurement challenges
- Build and execute an Account Plan with the goal of acquiring net new orderers, locations, and product adoption, either in new or existing account relationships
- Own Account relationships from end to end, ultimately driving for full adoption and utilization of ezCater solutions
- Deliver accurate weekly reporting on pipeline and customer spend adoption, including account status updates and insights learned during deployment and account maintenance
- Provide strategic account engagement that helps customers implement solutions that solve industry-specific procurement/food for work challenges
- Drive and accelerate spend adoption by advising customers on best practices for using ezCater solutions
- Focus on automating service needs for customers, while working with Product and Technical teams to develop solutions that will increase solution adoption
- Relay market needs and requirements back to internal ezCater teams, including Product, Technical, and Category Management teams
- Represent ezCater at various customer facing events, including but not limited to industry-focused conferences, tradeshows or other general opportunities
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Be required to travel 25% of the year; including Sales Kick Off, Together Weeks, and customer visits when applicable
Our take
ezCater is an online marketplace app that provides catering options for businesses, working with food providers who enter their menus onto the app for customers to browse. ezCater sends each store its orders and handles customer service while the food providers fulfil the orders.
ezCater profits by charging a small commission on all orders that restaurants fulfil. The company counts JLL, RingCentral and the San Francisco 49ers among its customers. It previously fuelled expansion through acquisitions such as online catering platform GoCater in 2018 and MonkeySoft Solutions in 2019.
ezCater has enjoyed strong growth so far, in part by focusing on meal deliveries to a growing hybrid workforce as an employee benefit. It has been eyeing an IPO for some time, though these plans are yet to come to fruition. In the meantime, it has continued to develop its technology and unveiled a new supplier diversity program to uplift small businesses owned by underrepresented groups.
