What the job involves
- As Smartcar’s VP of Partnerships, you will have the opportunity to build and lead the partnership function at Smartcar: building, negotiating, and establishing partnerships with OEMs
- Build and lead Smartcar’s automotive OEM partnerships strategy and function
- Establish relationships with the top global OEMs
- Attend telematics and automotive conferences
- Help educate OEM executives about the value of Smartcar’s platform
- Sign integration agreements with OEMs partners
- Run regular QBRs with OEM partners to provide updates on our partnerships
- Find ways to strengthen partnerships with richer integrations, new types of vehicles, and new geographies
- Create materials in collaboration with Smartcar’s marketing team
- Manage relationships in Salesforce to keep track of all partnerships
- Help relay the telematics needs from our customers to our OEM partners

Vehicle technology has grown exponentially over the years, with more cars being made with features like built-in WiFi and the rising popularity of EVs. Yet, vehicles were limited by the software built specifically for each brand. Smartcar’s universal API is compatible across all brands – think Android or Windows, but for cars – powering much-needed innovation within the mobility space.
Its API enables businesses and software developers to integrate their apps and services to over 153 million compatible vehicles across 31 countries. From auto insurance to EV charging and fleet management, the company has secured partnerships with major enterprises such as Turo, Recurrent, and Amp X.
Backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), New Enterprise Associates, and Energize Ventures, the company has remained focused on further innovation of its product while strengthening and expanding its partnerships with the likes of BMW. Smartcar is well set to see further adoption of its platform and remain the leading developer platform for mobility businesses.
