- 5+ years of product marketing experience in B2B technology, ideally with familiarity in open source software, enterprise security, and technical products
- Ability to manage product launches and go-to-market strategies effectively
- Comfort with technical content and the ability to build technical materials, plus the agility to turn breaking security events into clear, timely narratives
- Proven success in cross-functional, highly collaborative roles
- Ability to perform well in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment, balancing both strategic planning and hands-on execution
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in a clear and compelling manner
What the job involves
- This role is for a Senior Product Marketing Manager who will lead ongoing launches, growth initiatives, and supply chain security storytelling for Chainguard Repository. Chainguard is innovative at its core - the products we build are new and different - and articulating our value in a compelling and credible way is essential to our growth.
- This role requires strong communication, collaboration skills and some level of technical knowledge and comfortability with open source artifacts and supply chain security
- Chainguard Repository is a single, policy-managed experience for pulling artifacts that Chainguard either builds or distributes. It gives your organization one place to pull open source artifacts, configure security policies that govern how they are consumed, and monitor coverage and policy enforcement across your environment
- Manage ongoing launches of new capabilities, features, and integrations for Chainguard Repository, ensuring successful cross-functional rollout across GTM
- Develop and refine product positioning, messaging, presentations, and core content that articulate Chainguard Repository’s unique value
- Drive growth initiatives with content and cross-functional plans that leverage Chainguard's malware and greyware scanning and maintainer-behavior analysis capabilities
- Build consumable product and technical content across video, digital, and written formats
- Collaborate with product security teams on malware and greyware analysis, translating findings into credible, differentiated narratives
- Create enablement content and serve as a subject matter expert for sales and sales engineering teams, ensuring the field has the tools and knowledge to succeed; own competitive overviews and objection handling for your products
- Collaborate with demand generation and corporate marketing teams to develop campaigns, create necessary content, and present at events
- Collaborate with product management and engineering on product strategy, and contribute state-of-the-business and roadmap updates
- Key Repository capabilities include;
- A Chainguard-managed experience for pulling container images, libraries, OS packages, agent skills, CI/CD workflows, and virtual machine images
- A policy engine that enables flexible policy configurations for various artifact types
- A source code and maintainer behavior scanner
Our take
Developers rely on open source code and apps in their day to day work, but when the provenance of the code is unknown this creates potential weaknesses that cybercriminals can exploit. Chainguard exists to build security into the coding supply chain by making it possible for companies to enforce security policies based on auditable signatures baked into the code.
In the wake of huge cyber attacks, software supply chain security has been an area of major focus. However, most of this has surrounded the scanning and detection of threats. Chainguard's approach comes from the other end of the process, focusing on building security into the software itself.
Built by former engineers who are aware of developer workloads, Chainguard is designed to be easily installed and integrated into existing automation systems. The company has secured substantial funding, the latest of which will support more aggressive product and R&D spending as it looks to further boost sales.
