Who you are
- Experience & Skills: You have professional knowledge of HGB and US GAAP and are very proficient in booking in common Accounting systems (e.g. DATEV)
- Tax Knowledge: You have an understanding VAT schemes
- Problem-Solving & Communication: You have strong problem-solving skills, proactive issue resolution, and effective communication with cross-functional teams
- Core Competencies: You have attention to detail, strategic thinking, collaboration, and awareness of compliance and regulatory standards
- Languages: Your language skills are sufficient to communicate effectively in German and English in a business environment
What the job involves
- GotPhoto is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Team to support the financial integrity and efficiency of the organization by accurately maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely and precise reporting
- We have legal entities in Germany (Fotografen Online Service GmbH) and in the US (GotPhoto Inc)
- Accounting and Cash Management: You support our departments with GotPhoto Accounting functions, including invoicing and payment. You monitor system transactions and support technical integration
- Month/Year End Closings: You manage our Month End and Year End Closings by gaining expertise in Group Accounting and reconciliations
- Day-to-Day Tasks: You manage incoming invoices, expense tools, organize pre-accounting, reconciliations, and support resolving issues with interfaces and ports
- Collaboration and Support: You engage in cross-functional projects involving tech, payment, and accounting teams. Mentor new hires on pre-accounting processes
Our take
Taking professional photos for events and schools is as much an exercise in administration as it is in photography, with a gruelling and largely manual workload of organising photos, taking payments and shipping out prints eating into a photographer's time. GotPhoto exists to make this process much easier, automating promotions, sales and fulfillment, freeing the photographer to focus on their core business.
Considered the leader in its market, GotPhoto has amassed a customer base of about 4000 small-medium business and sole trader clients across the UK, US and DACH regions. While the company has had strong growth in recent years it still has a large market to grow into, with around 70% of volume photographers still relying on manual systems, and a core market growing by 25% year on year as these photographers start to look to the benefits of automation for their businesses.
GotPhoto was acquired by EQT Growth in 2023, providing investment into the platform's development and adding new features. It will also be able to tap its parent company's commercial connections as it aims to grow its lead in an estimated $5 billion market.
