Who you are
- We are looking for someone equal parts Left Brain: you can build clear & actionable decks, analyze data sets, plan and run our annual/quarterly meetings, and Right Brain: you can put together well curated Pinterest Boards for our store design team, pull & synthesize the latest F&B social trends, and jump behind bar when needed
- Previously at a high-growth company. F&B, consumer products, retail experience is a plus
- 4+ years of operational experience in consulting/finance/startups with proficiency in Excel and PPT
- MBA preferred but not required
- Other Notes
- Even if you have not worked in F&B, you are incredibly passionate about the industry. You have a strong appreciation for aesthetics, good coffee, food, and hospitality
- You have a strong bias for action
- Super versatile, you don’t mind context switching from debating color palettes to organizing data sets or building decks
What the job involves
- The Chief of Staff is Blank Street’s swiss army knife
- This position will offer you a unique opportunity to make an impact across our brand and play a critical role in our senior leadership team
- Assist in putting together all key communication documents & memos from All-Hands Meeting slides, to Quarterly/Annual Planning slides and memos, and Board Meeting slides
- Simplify & streamline decision-making across teams
- Actively anticipate problems/opportunities across the org and put together memos/policies for proposed solutions
- Join every meeting, take meetings on my behalf, and ensure clear follow-ups
- Develop and implement systems to improve workflows & time management for the leadership team and CEO
- Implement the right systems to stay organized & manage the amount of context switching & multi-tasking you are doing
- Manage & train our team on using our organizational tools such as Notion & Google Drive ensuring all teams are aligned, wikis are up to date
- Consider the needs of the whole org, parachute support across our different teams to support on research, planning, creative brainstorming when needed
- Project manage our key planning & strategy meetings (leadership meetings, quarterly/annual planning, board meetings)
- Facilitate clear and effective communication across the leadership team ensuring no one is working in silos & priorities are aligned
- Keep the leadership team focused on their priorities and track deliverables
- Build deep trust & relationships with team members across the whole org, acting as trusted advisor to our team

More people deserve great coffee and Blank Street strives to make this possible. Blank Street’s formula involves technology enabled, micro-footprint brick-and-mortar spaces which operate at a cheap price meaning they can produce excellent coffee, also, at a reasonable price.
What started as one electric-powered coffee cart in 2020 has expanded to over 90 locations across the US and the UK. Blank Street wants to serve coffee cheaper than Starbucks but tastier than Dunkin’ Donuts – its main competitors – and has done so with automation, specifically Eversys espresso makers that can produce 700 drinks an hour.
The chain has received mighty financing too, including from real estate tycoon Tishman Speyer as well as from General Catalyst Partners and Tiger Global Management. This brand is certainly making its mark as its growth has remained at an impressive rate, especially following its entrance into the thriving coffee shop market in the UK.
