- CPA required (or equivalent international certification)
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience preferred
- Strong expertise in ASC 606, revenue recognition principles and US GAAP
- Experience in cloud infrastructure, SaaS or software industries
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex contracts
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to handle intricate technical analyses and create clear, actionable reports or position papers
- You love to pressure-test deal structures and build automation that makes revenue right the first time
- You’re curious about how new products, pricing, and systems ripple through ASC 606, metrics, and controls
- You’re an expert in ASC 606, contract review, and turning guidance into scalable policies and SOX-ready controls
What the job involves
- The Commercial Accounting team at CoreWeave is responsible for all aspects of revenue accounting, technical revenue policy, and credit & collections
- As CoreWeave continues to scale rapidly, this team is focused on building best-in-class systems and processes to support financial accuracy, automation, and compliance with ASC 606
- This role will work closely with stakeholders across Revenue Operations, Product, Engineering, and Finance to ensure scalable, efficient solutions are implemented
- You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ASC 606, driving significant process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency in revenue accounting and developing future team members
- This role will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Revenue and play a key role in supporting CoreWeave’s growth and financial reporting processes
- In this role, you will ensure the accuracy of our revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and our internal accounting policies
- You will also contribute to the growth of the company through involvement in the drafting of sales contracts
- Review and approve sales contracts before execution to ensure compliance with ASC 606, identify potential accounting issues and provide guidance to the Sales team on deal structures
- Partner with Deal Desk, Sales, Legal,FP&A, Product Management, Business Systems and GL Accounting teams to assess revenue implications of new products, services and go-to-market strategies
- Develop and maintain revenue policies and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent accounting treatment
- Thoroughly review and document executed sales contracts from a technical revenue perspective and provide clear accounting guidance to the Commercial Accounting team to ensure compliance and accurate revenue recognition
- Prepare position papers when necessary to clearly communicate new policies or address complex topics as they arise
- Assist in the creation of SOX internal controls and perform certain controls over our revenue accounting processes
- Assist with external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and technical accounting memos
- Monitor industry trends and emerging accounting guidance to assess the impact on our revenue recognition policies
- Support automation and system improvements to enhance revenue reporting efficiency and accuracy
- Provide technical training and guidance to internal teams on revenue recognition matters
Our take
Many cloud service providers can suffer from slow prediction speeds when they are used for data modeling. CoreWeave solves this problem with its specialized cloud service provider.
CoreWeave reduces prediction times and makes service requests faster and more efficient. This, in turn, cuts cloud costs considerably. This has proven to be a strong draw for many companies, with CoreWeave signing a lucrative partnership with GPU heavyweight NVIDIA as well as partnering with BitOoda, which has allowed it to expand its operations to the financial market.
However, in 2023 it closed three very significant rounds of funding (Series B and debt and secondary extensions), which is being invested into expanding its US-based data centers, opening two new ones in the coming year. The question remains whether, despite 2023's big investments in the sector, CoreWeave can maintain this momentum and whether generative AI's stock will continue to rise.
