Who you are

You must be comfortable writing code and troubleshooting new technologies, and also be excited to teach other people about those technologies
2+ years experience writing code that uses machine learning products such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, Vertex AI, SageMaker, etc
3+ years experience writing tutorials, blogs, API references, or other technical documents for software engineers
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple language
Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to gather and organize information from a variety of sources

What the job involves

Modular is building a next-generation AI infrastructure platform that provides unmatched inference speed, hardware flexibility, and model extensibility
It’s a ground-up re-thinking of how AI systems should be built and deployed, and the documentation is a critical part of our product experience
We’re looking for somebody with significant experience writing docs and example code for ML developers
On the spectrum between a pure writer and engineer, we want somebody with strong engineering skills
Experiment with new API libraries to build and deploy AI models, writing code examples yourself and/or collaborating with engineers to design examples for critical use cases
Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to define the user experience and identify issues that should be fixed or documented
Write developer guides, tutorials, concept guides, and other documentation for topics that use MAX APIs in multiple programming languages, including Python, C, and Mojo
Maintain existing code examples and documentation, including editing and revising documentation to ensure completeness, correctness, and clarity
Collaborate with other technical writers on large documentation sets, using a shared structure and style guide

It's AI Engine enhances the performance of models on CPUs and GPUs, supporting popular frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. And on top of that, it's built Mojo, a programming language that's as easy as Python but much faster (35,000 times faster).

In 2023, the company raised an impressive $100M to power its mission. It's been using this funding to grow its team, support more hardware, and push Mojo even further. With the hopes of making AI development faster, smoother, and a whole lot more fun for everyone.
