Role
Who you are
- SFox is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a robust technical background in client money rules, accounting, budgeting, tax, transfer pricing, and financial reporting & analysis
- The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of the financial services sector, ideally within money transmission licensed institutions or money service businesses
- This role demands a strategic thinker who can deliver solutions, engage effectively with C-suite stakeholders, and communicate complex ideas concisely
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred
- 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related areas within the financial services sector
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems and systems migration is an advantage
- Prior experience in Fintech Industry preferably crypto currencies
- Proven experience in the financial services industry, preferably within MTLs or MSBs
- Strong technical knowledge of client money regulations, accounting principles, budgeting, tax, transfer pricing, and financial reporting analysis
- Effective solutions provider, adept at troubleshooting financial issues and offering strategic advice
- Clear, concise communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence C-suite executives
- Analytical mindset, with a focus on data-driven decision-making
What the job involves
- Financial Compliance & Client Money Rules: Ensure strict adherence to client money regulations, implementing and overseeing compliant practices and procedures to safeguard client assets
- Accounting & Budget Management: Manage all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Conduct financial reporting analysis to evaluate financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
- Taxation & Transfer Pricing: Oversee tax planning, compliance, and transfer pricing activities to optimize tax efficiency while meeting international tax standards
- Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with organizational objectives and market changes, supporting revenue generation and cost optimization
- Engagement with C-Suite: Collaborate with senior leadership, providing financial insights and solutions to support decision-making. Present complex data and recommendations in a clear, actionable manner

SFOX (San Francisco Open Exchange) is a cryptocurrency prime dealer that enables traders to access global crypto markets with one account. Unlike the wealthy consumer-facing products for private trading, SFOX focuses on professional traders and institutional investors, offering higher returns when trading large volumes.
Rather than acting as an exchange in its own right, SFOX helps high volume traders to buy and sell orders by executing them through its integrations with over 30 cryptocurrency exchanges. Despite the current downtown in crypto markets following the FTX collapse, SFOX is seeing an increase in business as institutional traders seek safer and more tax compliant ways to navigate the digital assets marketplace.
SFOX was part of Y Combinator's 2014 batch, and is led by an experienced team of operators. It has not been shy about attracting talent from top institutions, especially targeting engineering and legal professionals to further develop its product and ensure compliance with increasing regulations on the crypto space.
