Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a customer-oriented professional with deep technical skills, and who thrives on helping clients solve challenging problems
- 4+ years of experience in a customer facing support engineering and/or cloud platform technical support role within an enterprise software company
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing container orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes
- Expertise in implementing complex real-world solutions in public clouds, with advanced skills in at least one of the following: AWS, Azure or GCP
- Practical experience implementing systems in areas of networking, storage management, and authentication
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems in complex technical environments, with a proven track record of quickly adapting to new technologies and concepts
- Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by superior written and oral communication skills; strong proficiency in English is a must
- A creative and curious mindset with the resilience needed to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field highly desired, this is a very technical role
- Prior experience using Git
- Exposure to hybrid cloud/on-prem environments and High Performance Compute (HPC)
- Prior experience with bioinformatics or biotechnology
What the job involves
- As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will be the technical face of Seqera to our customers, and you will have the opportunity to work with everyone from the biggest names in Life Sciences to the world's most innovative Biotech startups
- You'll use your technical acumen to troubleshoot complex issues across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments
- You will work hand in hand with other Seqera teammates to ensure the platform seamlessly functions, while guiding customers on how to most effectively utilize our products to achieve their goals
- Customer Troubleshooting & Support: Work directly with external customers as well as with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues involving Seqera's platform, delivering hands-on support around infrastructure, custom pipelines and third-party technology integrations
- Engaging with Diverse Environments: Implement the Seqera product ecosystem across a variety of Cloud platforms and On-Prem customer environments. Leverage deep product knowledge to provide insightful solutions to customer challenges
- Feedback & Advocacy: Convey customer feedback to our Product Management and Engineering teams to help shape our technology roadmap. Advocate for customer needs and contribute to the enhancement of Seqera's solutions
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of company documentation and knowledge articles, fostering a shared understanding of our products within the team and among customers
- Professional Development: Expand your technical skills through internal training and independent learning
Our take
Commercial DNA sequencing and advances in biometrics have led to an explosion in biological data, which is likely to prove critical in tackling the major problems facing the life sciences. The problem is, the data is so vast in quantity and diverse in type that analysing it and managing it can prove prohibitively expensive. This is where data orchestration and workflow platform Seqera Labs comes into its own.
Seqera is focused predominantly on facilitating big data analysis and management in the life sciences, and it has gotten impressive traction. Its Nextflow product, a distributed data analysis solution, has been used by over 10,000 organizations. This has included teams working on COVID sequencing, and on cancers.
What's so valuable about its offering is that it can be used by people who understand the data without the need for external teams, which has led to it becoming an industry standard. Seqera has been funded generously, and acquired AI bioinformatics company TinyBio, empowering it to play a pivotal role in key life-sciences developments going forward.
