Who you are
- 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or another fast-growing consumer business
- Experience leading multiple locations and developing managers
- Strong operational, financial, and business acumen
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with the ability to coach, make decisions, and lead through change
- Passion for hospitality, developing people, and creating exceptional customer and employee experiences
- Curious, positive, and committed to continuous learning and growth
- Ability to travel regularly between stores within your market
What the job involves
- As an Operations Manager at Blank Street, your greatest responsibility is growing people. You'll hire, coach, and develop a team of General Managers, helping them become confident leaders who build engaged, high-performing teams across our stores. In a fast-moving and constantly evolving business, you'll create clarity, build capability, and foster a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous learning
- By investing in your people, you'll help scale the next generation of leaders while driving an exceptional experience for both our teams and our customers
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of General Managers
- Create an engaging culture where people feel supported, challenged, and excited to come to work
- Recruit and hire exceptional leaders in partnership with the People Team
- Coach managers through performance, development, and employee relations with fairness and care
- Ensure every café delivers a consistent, high-quality training experience
- Lead labor planning, scheduling, and staffing strategies across your district
- Champion exceptional hospitality and hold your teams to Blank Street's standards for service, quality, and execution
- Spend time in stores coaching teams and leading by example
- Maintain operational excellence, food safety, cleanliness, and brand standards across every location
- Partner with HQ teams to implement new initiatives, launches, and operational improvements
- Own the financial performance of your district, including sales, labor, and profitability
- Use data and insights to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships within your local communities to grow brand awareness and customer loyalty
- Lead through change with clarity, urgency, and empathy in a fast-paced, growing business
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and share best practices
- Help develop the next generation of Blank Street leaders
- Full Time: 50 hours per week, 5 days of availability required and must be available to work 2 peak days (usually weekend days, weekend as described as Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

More people deserve great coffee and Blank Street strives to make this possible. Blank Street’s formula involves technology enabled, micro-footprint brick-and-mortar spaces which operate at a cheap price meaning they can produce excellent coffee, also, at a reasonable price.
What started as one electric-powered coffee cart in 2020 has expanded to over 90 locations across the US and the UK. Blank Street wants to serve coffee cheaper than Starbucks but tastier than Dunkin’ Donuts – its main competitors – and has done so with automation, specifically Eversys espresso makers that can produce 700 drinks an hour.
The chain has received mighty financing too, including from real estate tycoon Tishman Speyer as well as from General Catalyst Partners and Tiger Global Management. This brand is certainly making its mark as its growth has remained at an impressive rate, especially following its entrance into the thriving coffee shop market in the UK.
