Who you are

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in offensive and/or defensive security operations who loves to help customers learn about how SpecterOps can help achieve their security objectives
Experience in Security Sales Engineering, Consulting, or other technical, customer-facing roles within the security industry
Deep technical knowledge of offensive and/or defensive security operations
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and have an ongoing desire to stay current with the latest technologies
Desire to embody our core values of passionate curiosity, consistent improvement, empathy, sustainability, humility, and empowerment through transparency
Ability to successfully complete a criminal background investigation
Travel: up to 25%

Desirable

Recent experience in penetration testing, incident response or other security operations

What the job involves

SpecterOps is searching for a Services Sales Engineer to support our consulting services business
Works with customers to understand business drivers and how to align customer needs with SpecterOps services
Execute on sales opportunities from discovery to deal closure, with or without the support of an account manager
Collaborates closely with sales and consulting services teams to maintain knowledge of service delivery ensuring a quality customer experience
Act as an interface between sales and consulting services to ensure smooth transitions of opportunities to active engagements
Author posts for the SpecterOps and BloodHound Enterprise blogs
Write and deliver presentations at security conferences
Support and guide prospects through security reviews and contracting
Customer conversations daily will require familiarity with some of the following areas:
Penetration testing, red team operations, and offensive security techniques
Security operations, detection engineering, and program maturity
Application and network infrastructure and security (Firewall, email security, proxies, etc)
Cloud infrastructure and applications (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
Common offensive and defensive security tools

As the onslaught of cybersecurity threats rises and evolves, SpecterOps takes an adversary-focused approach to defend its clients against harmful attacks. Adversary-focused cybersecurity goes above and beyond defense measures to actually impose costs and threats on the attackers, acting as a deterrent for potential hacks.

The old saying “the best defense is a good offense” is relevant here, and SpecterOps, with a co-founder with a background doing similar for the US Marines, has plenty of experience deflecting cyber threats. The company’s Bloodhound software maps and removes potential attack paths and choke points and consults on how companies can improve security. Bloodhound was initially leveraged by penetration testers but has found wider adoption over the last two years, with its customer base growing by 600% in that time. Clients include Capital Group, Woodside Energy, and the University of Texas.

This proactive approach to defense has drawn in considerable investment, SpecterOps having raised two rounds of series A in 2023 and further VC in 2024. This funding will go towards accelerating what is already a highly popular cyber defense product.
