- 10 to 15 years of experience in Finance (preferably in a hardware manufacturing setting), and experience in managing a team of experienced finance professionals
- Demonstrated skill in partnering with engineering teams (including senior leaders), and creating frameworks for detailed analytics and reporting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in high-pressure situations
- Drive to find elegant engineering solutions and performance pathways to lower the cost of long-duration storage

- As the leader of the Engineering Finance function, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, accelerating our progress toward lowest possible installed cost
- In this pivotal role, you will lead the close partnership with our Engineering and R&D leads to identify, quantify, report out, and propel cost-down strategies for our first-of-a-kind Iron-Air battery
- Additionally, you will work hand-in-hand with our Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Programs team to ensure smooth execution of engineering advancements
- You and your team will constantly evolve and refine our monthly product cost forecasts and enable us to swiftly address risks and opportunities as they arise
- Build, develop, and manage a team of experienced engineering finance professionals, who will partner closely with our battery R&D, electrode engineering, cell engineering, and system engineering teams on key cost-forecasting, roadmapping, and budget development activities
- Manage reporting on engineering-led cost-down initiatives and related metrics (ex. material cost impact, tooling impact, performance impact, expected cut-in timeline, level of risks) that are core to our product development and battery performance roadmap
- Partner with engineering, R&D, and programs teams to identify weekly progress, risks, related mitigations
- Drive rigorous and detailed should-costing activities (at the part-level) to inform engineering design changes, and design-for-manufacturing sprints
- Continuously mature and improve on existing should-costing framework, to incorporate latest learnings from supply chain quotes
- Lead the bi-weekly and monthly refresh of engineering and battery performance inputs into our product cost forecasting process
- Manage detailed communication and consistent report-out (to VP-level executives) of changes and underlying drivers
- Proactively identify risks and jump-start initiatives on related mitigations
- Develop strong partnerships with key engineering leaders, manufacturing leaders, and supply chain leaders
- Identify key pain points and blockers in execution toward cost-downs, and work consistently to reduce barriers where there are solutions that the finance team can enable

Central to the development of the digital revolution is the role of electric grid infrastructure and expansion. A completely electrical infrastructure is restricted by the inherent limitation that electrical energy is difficult and costly to store. Form Energy, however, have created a reliable battery that has the capacity to revolutionize how we use electricity.
Revolutionizing battery storage is at the core of Form Energy’s approach to making renewable energy universal. Form Energy’s battery is based around Iron-air technology that currently has energy storage capacities and operational costs comparable to legacy power plants. In addition to improvements in cost and consistent electricity access, Form Energy’s batteries are scalable, portable, and safe - offering a unique approach to revolutionizing renewable energy storage towards a greener future.
Although renewable energy storage technology remains an emerging industry, a variety of competitors are also driving developments of battery storage technology. However, Form Energy continues to be a key leader in this space, bagging significant investment that will enable it to build its first manufacturing plant and begin selling to customers. Form Energy's progress is highlighted by a deal with Xcel Energy to deploy iron-air battery systems at two of its retiring coal plant sites and with Puget Sound Energy in 2024, to help the company deploy multi-day energy storage systems.
