Who you are
- Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field
- Experience writing code for moderately complex applications
- Experience with programming languages for online applications, microservices or mobile applications
- Experience designing/building moderately complex applications/automation
- Experience writing automation test or deployment scripts
- Experience creating/coding scripting solution to fix moderately complex problems
- Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
- At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership
- Willing to travel up to/at least 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Desirable
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Consolidation system – implementation, automation and administration using IBM Cognos Controller
- Experience with Group consolidations of multi-currency, multi-GAAP (inc. US & IFRS) and complex ownership structures
- Provide Strategic guidance for intercompany & investment eliminations, enhancing the accuracy and relevance of financial reporting
- Ownership of Monthly flash and Quarterly reporting
- Design and develop structures - Accounts, Companies & Forms, in-line with requirements monthly financial close process
- Support in designing local processes for subsidiaries to facilitate month end reporting
- Automate the upload process for data from transaction system to Cognos Controller
- Train internal Cognos Controller super-users in best practice and techniques
- Support operation and improvement of standards across Controller environments
- Implements recommendations from Sr. Mgmt. on the creation of new Planning Analytics applications or enhancements to existing ones
- Constructs and tests Planning Analytics application logic, and develops, creates, modifies application code for complex applications
- Manages the implementation of complex enhancements to existing Planning Analytics applications
- Manages the implementation of complex implementation of major new Planning Analytics applications (enterprise-wide impact)
- Implement Planning Analytics/ TM1 solutions using TM1 Rules, TI Processes, PAx, PAW
- Implement TM1 security across implementations
- Conduct Planning Analytics training sessions for the end-users
- Implement data integration between Cognos Controller and Planning Analytics applications
- Strong Proficiency in T-SQL programming
- Extensive experience analyzing and optimizing large, complicated SQL statements and Stored procedures

Our take
Walgreens is the second largest pharmacy store chain in the USA and handles prescriptions, health and wellness products, health information, and photo services. Dating back to 1901, the company thrived during the prohibition era by selling “prescription” whiskey and, by the time of the Great Depression it survived through its operating 600 stores across 30 states.
Walgreens saw a substantial boost in growth in the 2010s when it merged with Swiss company Alliance Boots to form the 'Walgreens Boots Alliance' holding company. Though Walgreens became a subsidiary of Alliance Boots, it still retained its brand and Chicago headquarters.
One notable market shift for the store is its partnership with big pharma companies to facilitate clinical trials for new products from within its stores, a trend that came out of the COVID-19 pandemic. These partnerships hope to contribute towards better representation in clinical trials, with companies being able to reach Walgreens’s diverse customer base via the collaboration.
