To bring the joy of care back to medicine.
Medical professionals spend gargantuan amounts of time on clinical documentation, which is a vital tool in providing the right healthcare for individuals. However, this time spent on admin is not spent on patient care – which can be perceived as neglectful – and often eats into the personal time of practitioners. DeepScribe delivers an AI and NLP-led digital scribe to record conversations and examinations as they happen, saving doctors time and allowing them to focus on their patients.
DeepScribe was founded in 2017 to combat both the burden of documentation on doctors, and the impact it has on patient’s perception of their care, both of which the founders has experienced. Its ambient AI scribe, the first of its kind, is able to understand and summarize patient conversations, going beyond the speech-to-text capabilities of classic scribing tools. It then integrates the conversation into the health record system already employed by the practitioner, uploading directly into fields in the electronic health record so that they only need to review and sign off the notes, rather than writing them up.
DeepScribe’s platform is used by more than 400 physicians, and has processed around 500,000 conversations. It has established partnerships with big healthcare players such as Stanford Health Care and the Texas Medical Center, and has raised impressive funds that will accelerate growth, improve reach, and allow it to grow its teams.
