Who you are
- As part of a rapidly growing studio, being passionate about games, cultivating a growth mindset, and a fearless approach to problem solving are a must
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, sociology, or a related field
- 8+ years of demonstrable experience in working across roles such as community, marketing, communications, social media, content marketing, or similar fields
- 3+ years of experience working in an active live service game, experience on multiple platforms a plus
- 3+ years of experience leading a team towards shared outcomes
- Deep experience creating and communicating player community strategies
- Proficient in current social media platforms
- Expert in collaborating with cross-discipline teams and able to influence stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Familiar with content and community channels and tools, such as Discord, various social platforms, CMS systems, moderators, localization partners
- In-depth knowledge of current trends and pop culture
- Familiarity with or having played Palia is a plus!
What the job involves
- As the driving force behind the Palia community, you'll shape our strategy and guide player interactions across communication channels, social media, live operations, content creation, and collaboration with creators
- Your role involves leading a team of community managers and fostering cross-departmental collaboration between publishing and development teams
- Set and drive the short and long-term global community and player engagement strategy, and develop them into programs that aims to achieve business goals and outcomes
- Drive and implement community initiatives and programs that drive player engagement, retention, and acquisition and balancing between business and players needs
- Lead the content strategy and player-facing communications, such as patch notes, dev updates, and social media content to excite and engage our players across all channels and supported platforms
- Represent the voice of community to the studio, providing status, feedback and recommendations back to the studio
- Monitor online discussions and events to have a strong pulse of our community to acutely develop strategies or identify opportunities
- Gather and synthesize feedback from our players to deliver actionable recommendations for the publishing and development team
- Lead and mentor a team of community managers, ensuring accountability, defining career growth objectives, and nurturing their skills
Our take
Singularity 6 is a game development studio led by former Riot Games developers. Its first game, an MMO called "Palia", has seen release through an Open Beta, with a 1.0 release in the works. This was originally through the company's own PC platform, followed by Epic Game Store, and since then it has also been released on Nintendo Switch and Steam.
The developer seems to have potential, having banked tens of millions of dollars in venture capital to develop, market and launch this debut title. Palia already boasts over 4 million players (as of the end of June 2024), with over 100,000 actively enjoying the game daily.
With the MMO market on the rise, Singularity 6 should also have ample opportunity to grow. Its acquisition by Daybreak will allow the company and its games to benefit from rich industry experience, expertise and investment - a great sign for its future.
