Role
Who you are
- Interest in or initial experience with security and compliance (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD tools like CircleCI
- Cloud experience in AWS and/or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices
- Experience with or interest in vulnerability management, incident response, or DevSecOps practices
- Certifications in AWS or GCP are a plus, but not required
What the job involves
- We are looking for a DevOps professional who is eager to contribute to our cloud infrastructure and also grow in areas related to security and compliance
- We run our infrastructure on Kubernetes over AWS, maintaining a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and security
- While AWS is our primary cloud provider, we also use Google Cloud in certain parts of our platform
- You'll help evolve and maintain our cloud infrastructure (mainly AWS, partially GCP) with a strong emphasis on scalability and reliability
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to improve DevOps practices and automation across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Contribute to developing and maintaining our Helm charts and Terraform codebase
- Participate in architectural and operational discussions with a continuous improvement mindset
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines (we use CircleCI)
- Contribute to security and compliance efforts with the team, learning and evolving your skills along the way
- Collaborate with third-party providers and assist in the audit process
- Help document best practices and internal operational/security procedures
- Communicate clearly in English with team members across different countries and time zones
- In your first month:
- Complete your onboarding and understand our infrastructure and security context
- Get to know the team and integrate into our workflows
- Participate in production deployments and internal technical discussions
- In your first three months:
- Take ownership of small projects or improvements in infrastructure and tooling
- Collaborate with your squad to identify opportunities for optimization or automation
- Start supporting security initiatives, learning from senior team members and external partners
- In your first six months:
- Become a reference for specific areas of our DevOps stack
- Take the lead on initiatives that improve our development or deployment processes
- Contribute actively to the evolution of our infrastructure and our security posture
Our take
Advanced online players in hospitality win additional customers by offering online consumers the kind of personalised, clean, intuitive experience they’ve come to expect. Hotels with a less finely tuned digital presence lose out, and it’s a shortfall The Hotels Network (THN) is looking to address. THN provides a full-stack platform for hotel growth, including analytics, benchmarking, and a predictive algorithm that automatically carries out website personalisation for visitors.
It’s a neat offering, and likely to prove a vital one for hotels who need to keep pace with changing consumer preferences. For example, the majority of online shoppers report personalisation to substantially increase the likelihood of them becoming repeat customers. This is something high-end chains like Hilton and Marriott have the resources to reflect - THN’s platform gives smaller outfits the chance to compete.
THN reports a 20,000+ strong client network for its services, and trends suggest this number should only grow. With over 80% of people reportedly preferring to browse and book their travel accommodations online, hotels need to keep their digital presence sharp and in tune with current eCommerce consumer trends.
