Who you are

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with international tax planning and compliance
  • The ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment is critical
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; master's degree in tax is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience working at a public accounting firm and/or corporation (Big 4 and/or SAAS technology company preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in international tax is required
  • Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities, adapt quickly, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Sr Manager, International Tax, to scale with our business growth, manage international tax compliance, reporting, and transfer pricing, as well as contribute to the overall tax strategy and planning
  • You’ll be responsible for international tax matters, providing guidance for planning and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations while staying current on changes in the tax landscape
  • Take ownership of staying current on international tax legislation and industry trends as well as modeling potential impact scenarios to our business depending on tax legislation
  • Draft technical memorandum of international tax implications related to new legislation, guidance and company initiatives
  • The Sr Manager, International Tax, will report to the Director of Tax and collaborate cross functionally on business initiatives with international tax considerations
  • Assist with tax planning strategies and business initiatives, collaborating cross functionally as a trusted tax advisor
  • Manage development, implementation and maintenance of global transfer pricing strategy, policies and agreements in conjunction with transfer pricing documentation
  • Prepare and/or review calculations for US tax compliance (GILTI, BEAT, FDII, E&P), and local tax compliance filings, ensuring accuracy and managing deadlines
  • Prepare and/or review foreign provisions for quarterly reporting
  • Investigate, track and resolve tax notices and letters from international tax authorities as well as support international tax audits, including preparation of responses and documentation

Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
