- Are you ready to set the vision and strategy for building scalable, secure, and resilient platforms that power global LSEG Risk Intelligence products?
- We’re looking for someone with deep technical expertise and strategic vision in:
- Cloud platforms: AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation
- Container orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS), Istio Service Mesh
- CI/CD tooling: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitbucket
- Scripting & automation: Bash/Shell, Python
- Security & compliance: IAM, KMS, encryption, DevSecOps practices
- Monitoring & observability: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar
- Agile & DevOps culture: GitOps, SRE principles, Agile methodologies
- 8+ years in DevOps or platform engineering, with 3+ years in senior leadership or principal-level roles
- Proven experience architecting and operating cloud-native platforms at enterprise scale
- Ability to influence technology strategy and drive adoption across multiple teams
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A passion for innovation, automation, and developer enablement
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Principal/Senior Lead DevOps Engineer to define release architecture, influence technology direction, and lead transformational initiatives across our cloud-native infrastructure
- As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you’ll be a strategic technical leader, shaping the future of platform engineering and DevOps practices at scale:
- Own the release & deployment architecture and roadmap for cloud-native infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience
- Design and implement enterprise-grade automation frameworks using Terraform, CloudFormation, and GitLab workflows
- Set standards for CI/CD pipelines across multiple teams, driving best practices for secure and rapid delivery
- Lead Kubernetes platform strategy (Amazon EKS, Istio Service Mesh) for service-oriented architectures and multi-region deployments
- Champion Site Reliability Engineering principles, defining observability, reliability, and incident response strategies
- Influence technology adoption, evaluating emerging tools and practices to enhance developer experience and operational excellence
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads, fostering a culture of innovation, automation, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align infrastructure strategy with business objectives and product roadmaps
- Shape the technical vision for cloud-native infrastructure across the organization
- Influence senior stakeholders and executives, ensuring DevOps strategy aligns with business priorities
- Drive cultural transformation, embedding DevOps and SRE principles across engineering teams
- Act as a thought leader, representing the organization in internal forums and external communities
- Enable scale, ensuring platforms support global growth and innovation

It operates as a part of LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), one of the world’s leading providers of financial markets infrastructure, as a marketplace to enable stock brokers and traders to buy and sell stocks, bonds, and other securities.
The London Stock Exchange has lived through a stream of innovations; from telegraph and telephone, to the Market Price Display System, automatic trade matching, and the digitisation of issuer services. In 2019 it acquired Refinitiv, a financial information company, and in doing so became a global financial news and data business.
Most recently, the London Stock Exchange has made moves to support the evolution of private markets, and further build its presence in this space.
