Who you are
- University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program with an expected graduation date in 2025, 2026 or 2027
- Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting in May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruitment process
- 0-1 year of PR or social media internship experience

- Proactive minded approach, with an ability to set priorities and deliver results using excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail
- Intermediate understanding of media relations and the public relations industry
- Inherently organized and able to juggle multiple projects flawlessly

What the job involves
- Our industry-leading Communications and Brand team is seeking a creative, self-starting PR & Social Media Intern for the summer semester to support Lime in deepening our relationships with riders and keeping our finger on the pulse of cultural trends
- Creative storytelling about Lime’s impact in revolutionizing urban travel in cities around the world
- Ongoing media relations efforts to further position Lime as leading consumer brand with a sustainability-minded purpose
- Purposeful writing, including press releases, social posts, blog posts, Q&As and more, in support of Lime’s strategic goals
- Social media strategy and content creation support, helping to shape Lime’s voice and presence across global platforms
- Trendtracking and cultural monitoring, identifying digital moments, influencers, and brand collaborations to keep Lime culturally relevant
- Support Global PR Lead & Global Social Media Manager with all key peak-season inbounds, projects and requests
- Provide support across core Public Relations programs, including earned media strategy, content development, speaking engagement proposals, award submissions, and more. Intern will also support industry and competitive news monitoring programs, as well as Lime’s speaking engagement and awards strategy
- Develop and build media databases by researching media (locally, nationally and globally) and help to curate media lists for the Global PR Lead. This intern will also research and support with the development of proactive editorial pitches and other written communications
- Provide support for metrics reporting, clippings and internal reporting newsletters as well as support for events and brand campaigns, as needed
- Learn Lime’s social media strategy and stay chronically online to support the content ideation, creation, execution and community management for Lime’s global social media channels
- Track content performance and share out key learnings to inform content planning
- Work with the Global Social Media Manager to identify opportunities for brand collaborations and partnerships with content creators to strengthen Lime’s presence within culture

In recent years, electric-powered mobility companies have attracted an extraordinary amount of interest and funding, in part due to rising eco-friendly sentiment, and in part because of the race to "find the next Uber". Lime is one such company, that has rapidly scaled across multiple geographies to be a key player in the fight for market leadership.
Lime, along with its competitors, has had to grapple with regulation in many of its target markets, but nonetheless has steadily increased its footprint. Since its launch, the company has facilitated millions of trips, making it one of the biggest companies of its kind. Interestingly, the CEO has stated that "cars are our true business rivals—not other scooter companies", suggesting that its biggest business challenge will be to get families to give up their second cars.
With a presence that spans an impressive number of regions - in 2023, Lime began operating in Qatar - the company has cemented itself in the micromobility market and stands to profit from the increasing popularity of these types of services. A substantial increase in ridership enabled Lime to achieve "free cash flow positivity" two years in a row, with suggestions it will pursue a US IPO in 2027.
