Role
Who you are
- If you are excited by the intersection of software engineering, financial research and the zero-to-one mentality then we’d love to meet you!
- Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution (university must be located in the US or Canada) & must be returning to school after internship
- Available to intern for the full 12 weeks
- Extraordinary talent in software engineering. Ability to write high quality code
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of development standard processes and experience working in a team
- Ability to explore complex problems spaces objectively from multiple points of view
- Ability to learn in a fast paced environment
- General familiarity with some of the technologies we use: Databricks, PySpark, Python
- Linux proficiency, basic shell scripting and a solid grasp of systems level programming is a plus
- Specific experience in or knowledge of financial data systems is a plus

- Dates are currently set for June - August 2025
- Being a part of the AddeU Internship Program, you will be working on meaningful project(s) that you can feel proud of and present back to the company at the end of the experience
- In addition to having a supporting manager and mentor, we have a fantastic onboarding program to get you acclimated and ready for your time with us
- We are currently seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the Research Engineering Team
- Research is one of the most exciting areas in Addepar from a data, engineering and business perspective. We collaborate deeply with the Research Team to enable them to do research with quality at scale
- We can choose the exact project you’ll work on after you join, but some of the themes that we’re pursuing include: building frameworks for researchers, guardrailing best practices, data product factories, high-performance computing, global data aggregation and AI-first engineering
- You’ll work alongside talented, senior and staff engineers
- You’ll ship production code regularly
- Learn and demonstrate engineering standard processes and principles
- Practice communicating up/down/laterally
- Navigate ambiguity
- Produce a retrospective and demonstrate your summer project to an internal audience
