Who you are
- Customer focus and mindset including knowledge of customer motivators and drivers to develop strategy and propositions
- Understanding of and experience in the Private Banking arena. A good understanding of the digital landscape/disrupters/AI and how these trends will impact customer and change the market
- Ability to lead strategic changes from the development phase through to execution. Candidates will have built a proposition and been instrumental in driving its successful implementation

What the job involves
- You’ll report to our UK Private Banking Managing Director and you’ll be responsible for the delivery and execution of our future strategy and proposition, developing our business through customer acquisition strategy and taking accountability for both customer and commercial outcomes
- Evolve our strategy, ensuring we’re adapting to external market changes, learning and innovating based on insights
- Define and deliver our future Private Banking proposition
- Manage and develop our group products focused on the Affluent and High net worth segments
- Work alongside our tech teams to deliver change and innovation, ensuring we prioritise on the things which have the greatest impact
- Elevate our client acquisition strategy, unlocking the whole of LBG for the benefit of our customers
- Take accountability for customer and commercial performance across the business, identifying key trends, indicators and pivots required
Our take
Lloyds Bank, part of Lloyds Banking Group, began operations back in 1765 and is nowadays one of the UK’s leading retail and commercial banks. As with many leading banks, the company has dealt with its share of controversy – including for its handling of PPI complaints in 2015, and the 2009 European Commission ruling that forced it to part ways with TSB – but it has nonetheless stood the test of time and worked to build back its public reputation in the wake of these setbacks.
Of the company’s 26 million customers, over 18 million of them are online, making it the largest UK digital bank. As part of its ongoing digital transformation, the company is seeking to put the cloud at the front of its services and systems, and has cited intentions to invest heavily in overhauling its current technology infrastructure. All this seeks to serve the modern banking customer, and to compete with the fast-increasing number of alternative banking options appearing on the market.
Recently, Lloyds Bank has shown great interest in facilitating innovation in the industry, joining as a partner on FinTech Action Labs (a FinTech accelerator programme) to bring its industry expertise to early-stage FinTechs. As well as investment in digital transformation and AI, the company is enhancing its wealth product and corporate banking offerings, as well as expanding its partnerships with digital banking companies.
