What the job involves
- We're seeking a Head of Developer Marketing to lead our team of Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) focused on the developer audience
- This role is crucial in driving DigitalOcean's growth by creating compelling messaging, go-to-market strategies, and campaigns that resonate with our target audience of individual developers and small teams
- Lead and mentor a team of PMMs, fostering a culture of innovation and developer-centric thinking
- Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy for DigitalOcean's developer audience
- Create product positioning and messaging that effectively communicates our value proposition in the cloud computing and AI space
- Design and implement go-to-market strategies for new products and features
- Collaborate closely with other teams (Growth, Developer Advocacy, Developer Content, and Partnerships) to ensure consistent brand messaging and drive product adoption
- Leverage market research and competitive analysis to inform marketing strategies
- Own and track the product roadmap, ensuring excellent product launches
- Build and execute campaigns to drive adoption and revenue for new products
- Oversee the creation of marketing campaigns that effectively target and engage developers
- Work with the Developer Content team to ensure alignment of content strategy with overall marketing goals
- Contribute to DigitalOcean's thought leadership in the developer-oriented AI and compute platform space
- Key Performance Indicators:
- Number of Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) generated
- Conversion rates from marketing campaigns to product signups
- Developer mindshare influenced by marketing activities
- Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) for marketing-driven signups
- Engagement rate with marketing content
