Who you are

If you're excited by the idea of building a data function that powers every part of our business, we should talk
Proven extensive track record in data analytics/engineering, ideally in a startup/scaleup where you've worn multiple hats
SQL wizard with experience of modern data stack tools (BigQuery, DBT, Fivetran, Metabase - you know the drill)
Knack for turning complex business questions into elegant data solutions
Experience building and maintaining data models that scale
Strong business sense and ability to work directly with everyone, at all levels
Track record of making teams more data-driven (and actually enjoying the process)
Clear communicator who can make complex data concepts simple
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and challenges evolve

What the job involves

We're looking for an Analytics Engineer to build and own our entire data function from the ground up
You'll be our first full-time data hire, working directly with the leadership team to turn our growing data assets into insights that drive real business decisions
Be the architect of our entire data stack - including BigQuery, DBT, Fivetran and Metabase
Turn business questions into data solutions that help every team make smarter decisions
Build and maintain data models that just work (because clean, reliable data makes everyone happy!)
Create dashboards and reports that help us constantly identify and solve problems, not just show numbers
Partner with teams across the business to understand their needs (we love curiosity and people who ask questions!) and solve their data challenges
Shape our data strategy as we grow, including exploring AI/ML possibilities that could transform our business. We have our own custom-built AI agent - imagine having SimilarWeb-style insights across 20,000 retailers at your fingertips to spot opportunities before anyone else
Document and maintain our data processes and knowledge base
Champion a data-driven culture across the company (because data is only valuable when it's used)
You’ll have full ownership of building and scaling the data function

Our take

gocertify can verify NHS staff, teachers, students, over-60s, and under 26s - to name but a few. Alongside this, they create offer pages that sit directly on a retailer's website. This allows clients to drive increased sales via word-of-mouth advertising, build loyalty through personalised offers to key customers and fight fraud through gocertify's comprehensive verification process.

Since founding in 2020, gocertify is now trusted by FARFETCH, Currys, Samsung, HelloFresh and the H&M group, and more international brands. It has driven more than £5 million in monthly sales, whilst saving students and key workers massive amounts of money during the pandemic.

Looking forward, gocertify aims to continue growing its client base, expanding not only in the UK but to the US as well.
