Who you are
- This role is perfect for you if you are a proactive and user-oriented engineer who loves tackling technical challenges and is excited about building the foundation that makes internationalization and localization fast, efficient, and future-proof
- Solid experience with full-stack development (e.g., TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Go, or similar)
- A strong grasp of backend fundamentals: APIs, microservices, databases, caching, scalability, 3rd party integrations
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks and modern UI development practices
- Ability to work across and quickly adapt to different tech stacks and languages
- Strong problem-solving skills with a user-first mindset, building scalable and maintainable systems that solve real-world challenges
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, proactive attitude
- Experience working with localization tools, infrastructure, or developer productivity is a plus
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a versatile and experienced Fullstack Engineer to join our Localization team
- This isn’t your typical localization gig — we’re building the systems, tools, and features that power seamless global experiences at scale
- From backend services and frontend interfaces to internal platforms and developer tools, you’ll work across the tech stack and multiple programming languages to solve complex problems
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions across backend services, frontend packages, internal tools, and user-facing Miro features
- Work with a wide range of technologies and languages to solve technical and product challenges
- Collaborate across functions and teams to design and deliver scalable systems that enable high-quality global user experiences
- Improve and evolve our localization infrastructure and tooling
- Contribute to architecture decisions and code standards across projects
- Prototype and ship innovative features that streamline localization workflows and user experience
- Own projects end-to-end, from research, through planning, deployment, and maintenance
Our take
Millions of employees worldwide have moved to remote working, but existing tools are holding back the potential for collaboration. Tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams already provide remote communication platforms to millions of users, but they generally compromise on features required to emulate the team collaboration experience.
Miro has created a platform that provides enterprise tools such as collaborative whiteboards and mind-map software into an accessible and integrated service. As opposed to providing an 'all-in-one' add on, Miro allows businesses to customize and integrate the tools and resources within their individual platform to cater to the team's specific requirements.
Miro’s initial strategy of offering free and discounted subscriptions and then moving to paid models has paid off. The platform currently has over 35 million users and is trusted by enterprises such as VMware, Zendesk and Frog. As part of its ongoing battle with Zoom, Miro acquired video-chat startup Around in 2022, to remain competitive in the market.
