Role
Who you are
- Several years’ professional bookkeeping experience
- Working experience of iPlicit or a similar mid-size cloud based accounting system (Sage Intaact, Netsuite)
- Good basic understanding of accounting concepts, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day workload reliably
- Must operate as a self-employed contractor and invoice for services provided
What the job involves
- You will manage our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring our books are accurate, up to date, and tightly managed.
- From owning our accounts payable and receivable processes, to maintaining clean, timely reconciliations across banks, fixed assets, prepayments and accruals, you’ll be the person who keeps our financial engine running smoothly
- A key part of your mission will be helping the finance team deliver accurate management accounts by business day 2 each month. Your timely posting, reconciliations, and attention to detail will be critical in enabling fast, reliable reporting
- Accounts Payable: Processing supplier invoices and expenses, preparing payment runs, and maintaining accurate AP records
- Accounts Receivable: Generating sales invoices, monitoring outstanding receivables, and following up on overdue balances
- Bank Reconciliation: Completing regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
- Fixed Asset Reconciliation: Maintaining the fixed asset register and updating depreciation schedules
- Prepayments & Accruals: Preparing and posting monthly journals for prepayments and accruals
- General Ledger Maintenance: Ensuring accurate coding and posting of financial transactions
- Finance Support: Assisting with month-end routines and supporting the wider finance function as needed

The current car buying experience lacks clarity around pricing and cost, meaning that buyers are often unable to make informed decisions regarding financing until very late into the process. Carmoola offers a solution to this by providing speedy financing options at the start of the buying process, placing control back into customers' hands.
The company is able to offer this radically different strategy through new, innovative ways of approaching risk assessments that are geared towards transparency. Further, while other digital lenders and brokers require some phone calls and paperwork, Carmoola differentiates itself by operating entirely online for a more streamlined customer experience.
Funding has allowed the company to scale rapidly, and future plans include a continuation of this growth through new hires and development invested into its platform.
