Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 6 years in a leadership role
- Experience leading engineering teams in a consumer-facing tech company with a strong track record of delivering scalable, high-quality products in a fast-paced environment
- Deep understanding of modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with mobile and web technologies, and health tech regulations (HIPAA, GDPR)
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the passion to inspire and motivate
What the job involves
- We are looking for an Engineering Director for our App and Growth team to lead the technical vision, strategy, and execution of our consumer-facing health tech products
- Drive talented teams of engineers, collaborating closely with product management, design, data science, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and patient-centric solutions
- Guide technical excellence and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
- Collaborate with executive leadership and senior leaders in product & engineering to align priorities and business objectives
- Drive the development of consumer-facing health tech products, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and deliver exceptional user experiences
- Define and drive technical roadmaps, set engineering priorities, and ensure timely delivery of features
- Champion the use of modern technologies, tools, and processes to enhance product development efficiency and quality
- Foster a collaborative environment where cross-functional teams work together seamlessly to achieve shared objectives
Our take
The quantified self movement is gaining momentum, especially in the health and fitness sector. Wearable health monitors, sleep trackers, and genetic testing have all firmly entered the mainstream, and body MRI scanning service Prenuvo is taking this concept to the next level. Prenuvo’s whole body diagnostic imaging offers customers a comprehensive picture of their body, whilst screening for 500+ major conditions and cancers.
The medical benefits of approaching these diseases proactively, as opposed to reactively, are substantial. Customers will be able to catch warning signs early, meaning treatment is likely to be less invasive, with a higher success rate. Unfortunately North America, like many regions, has yet to make substantial investments in preventative healthcare. This just makes companies like Prenuvo, and the VCs who fund them, increasingly necessary.
This funding, however has been substantial, and having closed a Series A funding round in 2022 Prenuvo has moved swiftly to open new clinics across the United States. Its next step is to improve the accessibility of its service - currently scans cost about $1000, but improvements in the technology and working processes will cut the cost by two thirds or more and greatly expand Prenuvo's addressable market.
