Who you are

  • Strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, budget, and time
  • Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise
  • Expert level familiarity with both PC and other end point computing hardware and software
  • Experience in managing Windows Active Directory and user access controls
  • Administrative experience with Microsoft Office 365
  • Writing and editing skills to aid in writing and updating procedural documents and documenting tickets

Desirable

  • 4+ years of experience in an IT Operations role
  • 1+ years of direct or indirect leadership/mentorship of a Service Desk team
  • Advanced knowledge of Mac, Linux deployment and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with tools such as SCCM, Imaging, ServiceNow. Jira, EDR

  • The Information Technology team at Relativity Space is responsible for all computing infrastructure (end-user, server, virtualization, and cloud), software and software services, videoconferencing, telecommunications services and equipment, networking, and information security

  • We are looking for an IT Services Lead to join our growing Service Desk team at our HQ in Long Beach, California
  • In this role, you will be working closely with Systems Administrators and Systems Engineers in IT Operations, alongside leading a team of IT Associates on the Service Desk
  • As a lead of the team, you will be an IT “jack-of-all-trades”, continuously enhancing your various IT and Service Desk competencies while also assisting junior level associates on complex issue resolution
  • This is a hands-on position where you will support the desktop computer experience, launch systems computational and network resources, and bleeding-edge aerospace experts
  • Lead and grow a high-performing IT Services team focused on initiative, ownership, and delivering outstanding support to engineers and technical staff
  • Oversee daily operations by monitoring workloads, triaging tickets, and managing handoffs to ensure SLA compliance and timely resolution
  • Collaborate with the Senior Management to assess team capacity and adjust workflows to support scalability and performance
  • Mentor junior team members, offering technical guidance and encouraging knowledge sharing
  • Drive process improvements with an emphasis on IT asset lifecycle management and inventory accuracy
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, resolving complex technical issues and elevating the overall user experience

Our take

Relativity Space has set out to build humanity’s multiplanetary future with its innovative 3D printed rockets. The company is at the forefront of software-defined manufacturing, combining 3D printing, AI, and autonomous robotics to create the “factory of the future.” By utilizing 3D printing, Relativity has simplified its supply chain, building rockets in less than 60 days that require 100x fewer parts.

The company has completed its flagship Terran 1 rocket and has begun its initial round of test flights. While the first launches technically failed, as the rocket failed to reach orbit, the attempt is still classified as a resounding success as the rocket managed the highest stress state inflicted on the rocket, Max-Q. The company is set to test the Terran 1 rocket again, before moving on to its Terran R rocket. While the company faces competition against SpaceX, Relativity Space’s cheaper and accelerated building process is well set to be a fierce competitor.
