Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of relevant work experience
- 5+ years of experience working with Javascript, Typescript & React & Next.js
- 5+ years of experience with postgres or similar SQL databases. Need to be an expert level SQL query developer
- Experience with common cloud services, databases
- Experience setting up and working with CI/CD tooling such as Github actions and Docker/ Containers/ Microservices
- Experience working with Open Source tooling and building or contributing to open source software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for automation and coding best practices
- Ability to work independently, take initiative when necessary and have a sense of ownership
Desirable
- Experience building developer tools
- Experience working for a cloud service provider
- Experience or familiarity with blockchains and crypto
- Huge bonus if you are familiar with Akash or have used it
What the job involves
- Develop frontend and backend features for Akash Console - the primary deployment console used by customers and users of Akash.Network
- Build and maintain public APIs and SDKs for partners at https://console-api.akash.network/v1/swagger, https://github.com/akash-network/akash-api, https://github.com/akash-network/akashjs and more
- Work on automated tests and build (CI/ CD) automation
- Interface with customers looking to integrate with Akash
- Participate in technical discussions on public community forums like Discord, Github and other places
- Identify areas of improvement in terms of issues/bugs, as well as process improvements

The networking infrastructure that powers the way digital applications are designed has changed dramatically over the last decade, with recent innovations including cloud computing and blockchain technology. Combining these technologies can lead to the launching of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, blockchain networks, and other innovative digital products, but achieving this can be complicated, time-consuming, and expensive.
Overseen by parent company Overclock Labs, Akash Network provides a distributed peer-to-peer marketplace for cloud computing that allows developers to launch DeFi applications rapidly. The software allows pre-developed applications to be packaged in containers with predetermined prices and resource requirements, helping cloud-native, decentralized and serverless apps to be deployed at rapid speeds and at lower costs.
Whilst the solutions that Akash Network provides can already be achieved by software engineers with expertise in cloud computing and blockchain technology, the company recognized that cheaper, simpler, and faster solutions are required for the Web3 vision to scale. The company hopes that its ecosystem will disrupt the centralized cloud platform market, making decentralized apps easier to develop and more consumable.
