Role
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- You have gained a minimum of 5 years of experience in HR roles with a focus on business partnership or strategic HR initiatives
- You have previous team leadership experience, which is desired
- You possess a strong understanding of HR best practices and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in German employment laws and regulations; knowledge of international labor law is desirable
- You have excellent communication skills and fluency in German and English
- Your strong interpersonal, coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills set you apart
- You have a proven ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- You are a strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into HR solutions
What the job involves
- The HR Business Partner role serves as a coach, guide, and strategic business partner, supporting both the business and key People & Culture (P&C) functions, including Talent Acquisition, People Experience, People Operations, and People Analytics
- This role fosters collaboration across these areas to ensure that business goals and P&C objectives are aligned and executed effectively
- Operational Coaching: You will support leaders with employee-related topics such as performance and engagement, and help manage personnel processes efficiently
- Guiding Employee Relations: You will guide leaders in resolving employee relations issues and foster a positive work environment
- Proactive Coaching for Issue Resolution: You help teams identify challenges early and optimize processes to reduce pressure on the P&C department
- Labor Law Advisor: You provide advice on german and international labor law issues and assist with compliance through practical solutions
- Communication Facilitation: As a communication facilitator, you will ensure that the business unit and P&C are aligned, translating needs from both sides and alleviating the operational burden on People Operations
- Project Leadership Support: You will support cross-functional teams in driving P&C projects, ensuring that resources are used effectively while supporting broader strategic goals and reducing operational strain
- Development Coaching: You will contribute to global initiatives and help leaders and teams develop performance and culture in alignment with business goals
Our take
The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power the online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth.
