Who you are
- Python Proficiency: Fluent in Python and experience with Pandas, Numpy, PyTorch etc
- Evaluating AI Systems: Familiar with the methodologies for evaluating LLM/AI/ML systems to measure and improve performance and reliability in a structured way
- MLOps Familiarity: Acquainted with MLOps practices, understanding the lifecycle of ML model development and deployment, performance monitoring
- AI/ML Integration: Skilled in integrating AI/ML features into customer-facing applications, providing real-world value
- Innovative Thinker: You're driven by curiosity and continually experiment with new technologies and techniques in the rapidly evolving AI space

Desirable
- Prompt Engineering: Experienced in developing and tuning prompt for LLMs
- NLP Application Experience: Experienced in building text classification, entity extraction, retrieval system
- Prototyping: be able to investigate, experiment and prototype ideas from community/academics that have good potential to improve quality of Briink’s ML pipeline
- Understanding Agentic Systems: Knowledgeable about chains, routing, agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and the use of vector databases for managing structured and unstructured data sources
- Model Training/Fine-Tuning: Experience in training deep learning models, understanding the nuances and complexities involved
What the job involves
- We are looking for an AI Engineer focused at the intersection of software development and ML. On a scale with pure ML research on one side and traditional software development on the opposite side, this role falls more on the software engineering side of the scale
- You'll be integral to embedding AI/ML features into our products, developing the full MLOps cycle, ensuring we build best-in-class LLM applications for the sustainability space
- This role encompasses everything from constructing robust data pipelines to implementing cutting-edge agentic systems, ensuring our products are at the forefront of AI technology

Merantix differentiates itself from typical venture capital firms through its approach. While most VCs invest in established businesses, spreading funds across many companies and taking losses while focusing on winners, Merantix tries to pick winners at the earliest stage.
The launch of an AI Campus in 2021 significantly increased the company's ecosystem, allowing it to explore new fields. Through strategic partnerships with SoftBank and the AI City project in Dubai, Merantix is growing. It has incubated ten successful startups so far and aims to produce even more in the coming years. Merantix is raising a new €100 million fund to co-invest in startups, marking its largest fund yet. This fund will be allocated to co-investing in external startups, investing in incubated startups, and supporting existing investments.
