Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of non-internship full time professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years working on AI platforms, machine learning systems, or data infrastructure
- 2+ years experience in Python
- 1+ years experience in ML frameworks and model deployment
- 2+ years experience with cloud platforms and containerization tools
- 2+ years experience working in distributed systems, microservices architectures, and large-scale data processing
- 2+ years of experience in mentoring and leading junior team members, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, and contributing to project planning and decision-making
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Experience building and maintaining end-to-end AI/ML platforms or services in a cloud environment
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Familiarity with data engineering practices and tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka, ETL pipelines)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Contributions to open-source AI or software engineering projects
What the job involves
- As a Staff Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to influence the architecture of our platform, mentor junior engineers, and lead initiatives that drive the evolution of our AI infrastructure
- You should be passionate about building high-quality software, have a deep understanding of AI systems, and be excited to work on complex challenges at scale
- Platform Design & Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of key components of our AI platform. Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems that support machine learning models, data pipelines, and other AI-driven services
- Collaboration: Work closely with ML scientists, product engineering, and application teams to translate AI requirements into robust platform solutions
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting best practices in software engineering, testing, and development
- Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance to handle large-scale AI workloads and improve the efficiency of AI model training and inference
- Infrastructure & Scalability: Build and maintain a highly scalable and fault-tolerant infrastructure that can support rapid growth in data volume, complexity, and usage
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and cloud technologies. Continuously improve the platform based on industry best practices
- Our production systems rely on React Native, React, Node.js, TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Docker, Rails, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. Our workflow is trunk-based CI/CD, and our security/compliance posture is at the highest standards of healthcare, including HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and CCPA
