Who you are

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus
Experience analyzing ML workloads
Solid understanding of CPU, interconnect and memory subsystem behavior
Solid understanding of computer architecture, interconnects and memory system behavior
Proven experience in modelling and analysing complex workloads for SoCs
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex system-level issues
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

What the job involves

We are seeking an experienced SoC performance architect for our fast-growing automotive SoC developments
In this role you will work on all aspects of performance modelling and analysis related to chiplet based Automotive SoCs
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and system architects, to ensure that our target devices are performant
Drive all aspects of performance for Tentorrent automotive chiplet systems
Develop SoC and subsystem level performance use case descriptions
Develop models of interconnect and memory subsystem behaviour for target workloads
Work with external vendors on performance planning and drive the work to completion
Drive internal activities, including simulation, modeling and emulation
Plan and lead the automotive performance analysis activities

Our take

Tenstorrent is a US- and Canada-based semiconductor startup specializing in processors for AI workloads. Rather than building gneral-purpose CPUs or GPus, the company develops custom chips and sofrware optimized for running moder AI models. As demand for AI accelerates, and as a global chip shortage reshapes the semiconductor industry, these trends have become strong tailwinds for Tenstorrent.

The company’s unique approach is to build for this future software, which it believes will be written at a higher level. Combining this with conditional computing, Tenstorrent supports a scalable distributed network approach that is analogous to a human brain.

While the market for specialized AI hardware is destined to be gigantic, the company has to compete with a plethora of hopeful startups (as well as major tech companies like NVIDIA and Qualcomm). That said, Tenstorrent boasts an excellent trajectory so far, with its latest moves including unveiling its high-end Wormhole AI processors, and a partnership with LG which will see the development of chips for "Affectionate Intelligence".
