Who you are
- Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience spent at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department
- Extensive track record of managing high-value corporate or commercial transactions independently
- Strong understanding of UK corporate law commercial regulations and cross-border data privacy considerations
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven ability to find creative solutions to complex legal bottlenecks
- Excellent communication skills allowing you to translate technical legal risk into clear business guidance
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Counsel to lead our corporate and commercial transactions out of our London office
- In this role you will act as a trusted legal advisor to senior leadership executing strategic deals managing complex negotiations and ensuring our growth aligns with robust risk management
- You will handle a diverse portfolio of cross-border transactions and play a critical role in shaping our European commercial strategy
- Lead the drafting negotiation and execution of complex commercial contracts and corporate transactions
- Advise senior executives on legal risks deal structures and strategic implications of potential partnerships or acquisitions
- Partner with cross-functional teams including finance product and operations to ensure seamless execution of transactions
- Manage outside counsel effectively ensuring high-quality delivery within established legal budgets
- Monitor regulatory developments in the UK and Europe that impact corporate investments and commercial operations
- Streamline internal deal processes and playbooks to improve velocity while maintaining strong risk mitigation

The digital asset industry is maturing, with asset companies looking to shore up their positions by adding secure custody capabilities. This is good news for BitGo, an independent, regulated cryptocurrency custodian company providing security, custody, and liquidity solutions.
BitGo’s flagship multi-signature wallet solution helps its clients mitigate risk and optimise capital efficiency. The company has subsequently expanded to also cover a number of areas that are critical for any holder of major crypto assets, like portfolio and tax management. In this, BitGo was smart to focus exclusively on institutional clients: there’s a huge appetite among larger players to expedite the mainstreaming of crypto, and they’ll need precisely BitGo’s tools to get there.
BitGo was in talks to be acquired by PayPal, and most recently, by Galaxy Digital, which speaks to a strong institutional confidence in the crypto wave. Despite a rocky 2024 for the digital assets (which now sees BitGo suing Galaxy Digital for pulling out of the acquisition deal), BitGo has manoeuvred itself into a central position to capitalise on what, now, seems a near-inevitable period of mass adoption.
Exemplifying this, the BitGo Ventures wing of the company was launched in 2024 to partner with and invest in cutting-edge blockchain and fintech startups, whilst the company saw revenue rocket to $4.19 billion in H1 2025. It completed an IPO bid in Q1 26, which is fitting considering its growth
