Who you are
- This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to make a significant impact on the financial success of our organization
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- Experience in FP&A and Accounting at a startup and/or investment banking a plus 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and financial analysis
- Experience forecasting for cloud spend is required (AWS, Azure, etc)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial planning software; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and cross-functional teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement
What the job involves
- The FP&A Manager at Orkes will play a critical role in driving informed decision-making and financial performance optimization through comprehensive financial planning, analysis, and reporting
- Reporting to the CEO, this position will lead the FP&A efforts in developing and executing financial strategies, forecasting future financial performance, and providing strategic insights to senior management
- Establish and lead the FP&A function, developing tailored processes and frameworks for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis that align with our offerings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights, data, and input for accurate financial forecasting of our solutions
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and variances, enabling data-driven decision-making
- Develop financial models that provide insights into different scenarios, assisting in risk assessment, pricing strategies, and growth planning for our products
- Work closely with the executive team to set financial targets that support our company's strategic goals
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and industry benchmarks to inform financial strategies for our holistic solutions
- Monitor and manage cash flow, identifying opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation in our operations
- Provide guidance on pricing structures, cost analysis, and profitability for both our consulting and software offerings
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, considering the dual nature of our solutions

Our take
Netflix's development of Conductor, built to cope with the platform's high level of video traffic, has been hugely popular, incorporated by leading brands including Tesla, GitHub and Deutsche Telekom. The creators of Conductor have now launched Orkes, which offers a cloud version of the tool.
The platform has full compatibility with the open source version and microservices and workflow orchestration at scale. Thousands of companies rely on the tool to build and deploy mission-critical applications and execute numerous other use cases, such as data protection workflows or CI/CD pipeline orchestration.
Orkes emerged from stealth following a successful fundraise in 2022, and it has prioritized building out its engineering and go-to-market teams. After further funding was awarded in 2024, Orkes is accelerating its product roadmap, investing in developer experience and adding more resources to its open-source Conductor platform.
