What the job involves
- You'll play an essential role in creating impactful solutions that transform healthcare communication
- Working closely with a collaborative team, youâll develop features, solve real-world problems, and learn from experienced engineers while contributing to a product used by healthcare professionals and patients across the UK
- This is an opportunity to grow into a highly impactful product engineer: deepening your technical skills, understanding user needs, and building solutions that make a difference
- Every day youâll apply the âproduct engineerâ mindset, being close to users and their needs, collaborating in user research by joining sessions with patients and their healthcare teams, building with a focus on the end goal and being responsible for continuous improvement to the live services you have shipped
- Be a key contributor in a cross-functional team to design, develop, and deliver new product features
- Work with Microsoft technologies such as C#, .NET (Core), Kubernetes and Azure
- Contribute to improving the scalability and reliability of our systems, which healthcare professionals depend on, including security and privacy considerations
- Youâll focus on delivering features that address real-world problems, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of live services
- Collaborate with wider stakeholders to build a deep understanding of our product: working directly with clinical leads, market experts, support teams and our security and privacy specialists
- Develop your skills, learn from experienced engineers and contribute to technical decisions
- Participate in user research sessions to understand the challenges faced by healthcare professionals and patients
- Learn and apply best practices in software engineering to ensure high-quality code

Our take
Communication between patients and nurses/doctors has typically happened via telephone call or post. This outdated technology is costly and doesn't provide a great experience. Accurx solves this problem with its communication and collaboration platform.
Accurx is building tools that allow GPs and other healthcare providers to communicate more efficiently with their patients and with each other in order to deliver top-quality care. Its products are now used in over 95% of GP practices. This is testament to the value of Accurx's platform.
Since raising considerable funding, Accurx has been focused on growing its team and developing its products, including batch messaging between clinics and patients, to help care sites ease the burden of long wait lists and understaffing. With these challenges continuing to mount for the health system, Accurx is likely to remain in high demand for the foreseeable future.
