What the job involves
- We're looking for an exceptional Content Designer with an interest in health technology that solves real-world user problems
- You can flex between prototyping new products, designing end-to-end experiences and creating compelling microcopy such as feature overviews, error messages and pushes
- Alongside your place on our market-leading content design team you’d be working within Flo’s Commercial (Monetisation) stream creating engaging content that is both user friendly and inspires action
- Explaining the value of Flo through clear, concise and compelling content that activates our users to subscribe to Flo Premium. Essentially, your content should make taking out or renewing a Flo subscription a no-brainer for people everywhere
- You’d be working closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, User Researchers, Analysts, as well as our Legal and Medical teams - so passion for collaboration is key
- Create clear, concise, and compelling content for new features, widgets, paywalls and more
- Collaborate with Product Designers, Researcher, Analysts and Product Managers to define new experiences across our website
- Come up with fresh ideas to improve existing user experiences and bring in new revenue streams
- Advocate for Content Design both on your team and in the wider community
- Proactively seek areas for improvement, working with all content disciplines and across other product streams to find solutions
- Work closely with Localisation to ensure messaging and tone of voice is kept consistent and makes sense across different markets
- Evangelise for human-centred design, readability, accessibility and creativity
- Help other Content Designers develop their skills, by sharing best practice, collaboration, and training

Flo is an AI powered period tracking app that allows users to access health insights relating to their cycle by inputting experienced symptoms and cycle dates. AI is leveraged to improve the personalised predictions of upcoming symptoms or periods, allowing the platform to help predict irregular periods or highlight fertile periods in your cycle. They state that the app can also flag when symptoms might need medical attention.
What sets Flo apart from its competitors (Clue, Ovia, Glow) is its ability to change from a period tracker to a fertility tracker, and it can even offer valuable insights postpartum. The app is the number 1 period tracker in the UK and US and the most downloaded female health app worldwide, with over 70 million monthly users. And in the wake of the Supreme Court's 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Flo has responded to its users' concerns by implementing an anonymous mode to prevent personal details from being linked to fertility data.
Historically, it has proved difficult for companies to get funding for products aimed at women. Flo has largely overcome this and secured significant investment through its funding rounds. This will allow the company to focus on implementing proactive care solutions in the app, amongst other developments, to evolve the service offered.
