- Someone with experience solving complex problems related to digital content, search, recommendations, and generative AI

- You have 8+ years of experience as a product designer with demonstrable proficiency owning the design process from early stage ideation through high fidelity design to product ship
- You are comfortable working closely with designers, product managers, engineers, researchers, and data scientists. You can synthesize and incorporate their inputs and points of view in your work
- You are someone who is excited by the challenge of iterating on and improving the user experience across three brands, and using emerging technologies to innovate on familiar patterns
- You’re a strong communicator who has the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and persuasively, and present your work in a way that energizes and creates shared ownership for both leaders and peers. You also have the skills to mentor those around you to deliver high quality work
- You are fluent in UX, visual and interactive design best practices and have a strong knowledge of usability fundamentals and methodologies
- You maintain a high bar for design quality and coherence, even when scaling solutions to meet broad user needs. Your portfolio showcases a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering clear, engaging user experiences
- You are comfortable with ambiguity, you thrive in fast-paced environments that require a growth mindset and adaptive problem-solving skills

What the job involves
- The Discovery and Content Pillars are dedicated to helping millions of people discover, engage with, and consume content across our extensive Everand, Scribd, and SlideShare libraries. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be at the forefront of innovation in the digital content space, using the power of generative AI to tailor and enhance the user experience.
- This role offers a blend of creative freedom and technical challenges, allowing you to craft solutions that bridge user needs with technological possibilities
- Help shape the future of our content and discovery experiences, working on key features like search, onboarding, and recommendations across Everand, Scribd, and SlideShare. Your work will impact millions daily, making it easy for users to find and enjoy our content
- Partner with design leads, product, data analytics, user research, machine learning and frontend engineers, and customer support to identify requirements, use cases, user problems and opportunities
- Own end-to-end design projects from brief, research, and concept exploration through prototyping, visual design details, and stewardship through development
- Use data collected from research, user testing and market evaluation to create truly user-centered designs
- Pair with our research department to plan and conduct user research, and test prototypes to understand user needs and the resonance of our product — synthesizing the results to inspire empathy and bring clarity to the broader team
- Visualize and communicate complex design solutions across use cases by creating process flows, wireframes, animated prototypes, and high fidelity designs
- Develop and maintain detailed design documentation & specifications for your work
- Work closely with engineers, stakeholders, and partners during build phases to ensure that the user experience is polished and as intended
- Regularly present your work to peers, stakeholders, and senior leaders for feedback

The world's biggest site for social reading and publishing, Scribd's website has over 250 million unique visitors each month and a vast content library, consisting of over 200 million audiobooks, magazines, ebooks and newspapers as well as media created by the Scribd community.
While Scribd is the largest social reading site, it is not alone in offering this kind of media. It competes against some major players, the largest of which are Amazon's Kindle and Audible offerings, but also includes the likes of BookMate and the non-profit Internet Archive. Where it stands aside is in its feature-rich reader and the sheer diversity of its library, which, thanks to partnerships with several major publishers, features numerous popular titles as well as a range of independent creators.
Further differentiating it from competitors, the company taken a firm stand on social issues, in particular the recent wave of book bannings taking place across the United States. By making the banned titles freely available it hopes to do its part in preserving literary freedom. With this tendency showing no signs of slowing down, Scribd's intervention in this area could prove to be important.
