Role
Who you are
- 5-6 years of experience in the media or technology space, preferably in a subscription business
- The ability to analyze and interpret data and develop hypotheses to drive customer engagement/ monetization and evolve subsequent testing phases based on new insights, preferably in connection with a subscription service
- Have knowledge of AI and machine-learning capabilities used in a marketing capacity
- Demonstrated experience driving customer acquisition and revenue growth through the implementation of digital media strategies
- Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (Looker/Tableau), project management tools (Airtable, Asana), Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience building relationships quickly and authentically and work collaboratively and cross-functionally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finish
- A bias for action and passion for learning
- A highly organized and detail-oriented approach to your work
- The ideal candidate will have a strong marketing background with hands-on experience planning, developing, launching, and analyzing customer acquisition and retention marketing, familiarity with AI and machine learning, and can analyze, interpret, and apply performance data
- You should enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in a highly competitive marketplace and have a track record of solid, insights-driven performance
- Subscriber marketing experience is required; streaming experience is a plus
What the job involves
- The SVOD Marketing Manager will help launch and grow new subscription services on the Roku platform
- This individual will develop and execute go-to-market strategies and marketing campaigns focused on driving subscription signups and retention
- Drive the marketing strategy and collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new SVOD services on the Roku platform
- Partner with creative, lifecycle, and brand marketing teams to develop strong messaging and storytelling that is cohesive and consistent across marketing touchpoints
- Partner with various product and engineering teams to leverage AI and machine-learning capabilities to automate tactics where possible
- Be the end-to-end manager of campaign strategies, execution, and reporting for campaigns across multiple consumer touchpoints including, but not limited to, display, video, email, web, and mobile
- Leverage offers and incentives to acquire customers, mitigate churn, generate win-back, and upsell subscribers
- Work closely with media strategy, planning, and analytics leads to understand objectives, goals, and KPIs and measure and track all campaigns and tactics
- Report on and analyze campaign performance to drive continuous testing and optimization
- Review insights and make recommendations for future testing, optimizations, and automations
- The Subscriptions Marketing team’s mission is to drive subscriptions growth by helping our customers discover, enjoy, and manage their subscriptions through Roku
- The team is comprised of marketers specializing in Product, Web, Growth, Lifecycle, Content, and Partnerships Marketing
- We support new product and feature launches, lead tentpole content campaigns, and develop always-on automations to help our customers navigate their own personalized journeys with subscriptions through Roku

Roku provides an integrated streaming service that offers TV channels, movies and third-party streaming services, resulting in an all-in-one streaming platform. The service can be accessed through a variety of customized subscription packages and fees.
Roku stands out in the streaming industry by bringing many competitors together in one package. The startup provides further innovative services such as a weekly TV series named 'Roku Recommends' which uses first-party data to recommend essential viewing to users. Alongside funding filmmakers through its "Change Makers Program", Roku also acquired its own original library of shows through its acquisition of now-defunct Quibi's library in 2021. After successful collaborations with TCL and Hisense, the first in-house "Roku Television" was released in 2023, further exemplifying the streaming company's wider ambitions in the media sector.
