What the job involves
- As the Director of Corporate Engineering reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead a key team responsible for the technology infrastructure and services that power Roblox's internal operations
- You will be a visionary leader, driving innovation and teamwork to create a secure, productive, and enjoyable work environment for all Roblox employees.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for corporate engineering that aligns with Roblox's overall business goals
- Identify and implement innovative solutions that improve employee efficiency, teamwork, and happiness
- Ensure the flawless operation and maintenance of Roblox's new campus builds, enterprise compute and networking infrastructure, broad efficiency applications, and helpdesk services
- Prioritize security and user-friendliness in all aspects of corporate engineering. Implement robust security protocols while ensuring that tools and services are intuitive and easy to use
- Partner with leaders across the organization, including IT, People, Facilities, and Finance, to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements
- Lead budgets and resources optimally, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality services

In addition to standard games, the platform offers virtual worlds and other experiences to explore and interact with. Its platform provides an online ecosystem for millions to create, socialize, chat, and explore immersive experiences with friends. In fact, in the US its used by two-thirds of children aged 9 to 12.
The experiences on the platform are made by Roblox's over three million creators, and are available on a range of devices from PC to Xbox to Oculus, and more. The company has grown at an impressive rate, and has been keen to adopt new developments in the tech world, for example with its real-time AI translation for players to interact outside their native tongue.
