Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields
- 1 - 4 years of relevant work experience in Treasury, AP, Finance, or related roles
- Understanding of common payment types and banking products
- Highly proficient in Excel, G-Suite, Slack, and other collaboration tools
- High attention to detail and standards for work product
- Has or is willing to create ID.me account (for IRS TIN Matching)
- Knowledge of 1099s or tax reporting
- Intellectual curiosity and desire to understand Intersect’s business from a financial perspective, from the projects to the company as a whole
- Highly organized, problem-solver mentality
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively
- Experience with expense reports or T&E policies a plus
- Renewables, utility, construction, or real estate development experience a plus
- Experience managing consultants a plus
- Experience working on remote / distributed teams a plus
- Experience with structured financings a plus
- Payables software experience a plus
- Ability to 35-40 hours per week
- Fully remote, must be able to provide stable internet connection and work until 6:00 PM ET
- Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone
What the job involves
- The AP Specialist will be responsible for the company’s accounts payable process and ensure AP is running efficiently.
- The AP Specialist will be the primary contact for vendor management and relationships.
- The AP Specialist will support systems, processes, and initiatives in close collaboration with both the Accounting and Treasury departments
- The Treasury team is responsible for effectuating payments, managing bank accounts, forecasting and managing short term liquidity, and interfacing with financing parties for the administration of existing financings.
- Treasury sits within the broader Capital Markets group, which has a mandate to plan, execute, and maintain the capital structure of the operating business.
- The treasury team works closely with the rest of the Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, and Accounting functions
- Lead daily invoice processing using a variety of platforms
- Lead vendor management for the company, including 1099s
- Manage staff augmentation consultants
- Assist with credit card reconciliations and marking invoices as paid
- Process employee expense/reimbursement reports
- Draft and implement controls and procedures to promote a culture of prudent risk and controls
- Understanding of controls, ability to work in an environment that requires adherence to controls
