- 7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives experience
- 4+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experienc
Desirable
- Expertise in Microsoft, VMWare, Storage, and or Database migrations
- Experience developing detailed go to market plans
- Experience proactively growing customer relationships within an account while expanding their understanding of the customer's business
- Experience in direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology projects for global customers
- 5+ years of technical work experience, or BS degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent
What the job involves
- As a Specialist Seller, you will be an owner of AWS service(s) and drive business revenue by identifying customer needs and matching them to AWS solutions
- Specifically, focused on Enterprise Applications such as Microsoft, SAP and VMware
- You will be empowered to pursue, create, and develop opportunities for their service by engaging with prospective and existing AWS customers
- As a Specialist Seller, you will identify high-value customer opportunities within specific accounts
- You will engage with the customer, partner(s), and account team to help customers succeed by choosing AWS services and accelerate service adoption
- You will own the full-cycle sales engagement plan with prospective customers, be a trusted customer advisor to help close deals, and ensure customer retention
- You will respond to qualified lead opportunities generated via field engagement activities
- Also, you will maintain an operating knowledge of the AWS service catalog aligned to your domain specialty, new service development or service changes, and relevant cross-functional areas to build strong relationships with AWS customers

Amazon is the world's largest online retailer, and is well-known for its disruption of well-established industries. The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.
More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.
Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
