- Education Desired: Bachelor of Computer Engineering
- Experience with implementing and maintaining high availability production systems
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical individuals as needed
- Experience with BI platforms like Tableau, WebFocus, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI, or similar tools
- Strong Windows and/or Linux system administration experience
- Experience working with SQL and cloud based relational databases such as Snowflake
- Experience with authentication and authorization systems like LDAP, Kerberos, AD, and IAM
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Experience debugging networking issues such as DNS resolutions, proxy settings, security groups
- Experience with developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, and alerts
- Knowledge of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management)
- Strong development skills in Python or other scripting language
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with BI and data visualization development and/or platform management
- Minimum 5+ years of technical role experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with SQL

What the job involves
- As a technical expert for our data and analytics ecosystem you will support FIS business line reporting teams, Business Services, Data Services teams, external vendors, and implementation partners
- Visualization Platform Principal Systems Engineer is responsible for the entire life cycle of the BI platform, research, implementation, integration with other data platform tools and service to provide a scalable, performant, and governed BI platform hosting products both for internal and external customers
- Automate operation, installation, and monitoring of the data visualization platform components in our infrastructure stack in cloud and in on-premises data centers
- Manage and resolve critical support issues with a high degree of technical complexity
- Measure and monitor service and support performance and health (SLAs, KPIs, etc.)
- Plan and implement upgrades of tools and design system enhancements with emerging features
- Collaborate with engineering team on technical strategies, design patterns, and practices relevant to the optimization and continuous improvement of BI platform within the organization
- Design, optimize, document, and implement the operational aspects for administering various BI tools within FIS data platform ecosystem
- Develop and maintain operational runbooks and training curricula for support team
- Provide enterprise-wide data visualization technical oversight and mentorship for geographically dispersed colleagues and contracted team members
- Implement release management, governance, cost monitoring, user security auditing and performance optimizations to improve customer experience and system reliability
- Apply emerging and traditional technologies for analytics improvements in support of enterprise analytics platform strategy
