Role
Who you are
- 1-3 years Strategic Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, or a related business field
- An expert in financial modeling and quantitative analysis, who enjoys solving complex and unstructured problems
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Solid project management skills, ability to independently manage tasks on time
- Comfortable working in a very fast-paced, high-growth business environment
- Work effectively and collaboratively cross functionally with your business partners
- High proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets with ability to compile, transform, analyze, and present complex data sets
- Proficiency in a data tools (Sigma) and a FP&A tools (Pigment)
- Bachelorâs degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or related field

What the job involves
- Flock Safety is seeking a Financial Analyst who will support the strategic finance and operations team
- This role will be a critical business partner for the Operations organization & leadership and will be key to scaling our modeling and reporting capabilities
- The Strategic Finance team at Flock is responsible for forecasting the business units they support, providing insight on business performance, developing strategies for improvement, and tracking variances/anomalies in financial data
- This role will offer substantial leadership exposure and the opportunity to impact decision making in a hyper-growth environment
- 90 Days at Flock:
- We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired in this role at Flock Safety
- The First 30 Days:
- Get up to speed on month end close processes, data systems, & financial models
- Become familiar with Flockâs operations and delivery processes
- Participating in strategic project with cross functional partners
- Review Operations hiring checkbook, and own monthly headcount reconciliation
- Review Operations weekly Cash Flow model, and own relationship with Corporate FP&A to provide weekly guidance on updated cash burn
- The First 60 Days:
- Own preparation of monthly Operations BvA, and all other monthly cost tracking related processes (month end close accruals, headcount reconciliation, updating cash burn)
- Own model update projects end to end, improving the accuracy and detail of our forecasting models
- 90 Days & Beyond:
- Youâre a trusted partner to our finance, operations, and accounting teams. Assisting in enhancing financial models, preparing planning materials, and driving analysis on cross functional projects
- Youâre responsible for forecasting part of the business and drive cost improvement within the line items you own
- Fluent in our data systems and ability to self source all data
Our take
Public vehicle surveillance provides valuable insights to emergency services for the prevention of crime, but bringing information together to create leads is difficult. There's no standardised system for inter-city vehicle surveillance, and this makes it difficult for communities and law enforcement services to work together.
Flock Safety provides surveillance equipment that aims to improve the abilities of law enforcement and homeowner associations to communicate data with each other. The company focuses on vehicle surveillance, innovating on existing technology by using machine learning to categorise vehicles by color, license plate, state, and other data points.
Whilst automated surveillance equipment is used daily within federal police forces, Flock Safety builds technology systems that provide a means for smaller law enforcement agencies to quantify and share surveillance data easily.
