Who you are

  • You have a proven track record of successfully managing a team of Data Engineers
  • You’re a leader who can build trust with the team and stakeholders
  • You’re passionate about coaching and growing people to reach their potential
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • You have experience working as a Data Engineer with experience with dbt, terraform and cloud services (we use AWS)
  • You can prioritise work in collaboration with leadership

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Data Enablement squad
  • Data Enablement’s mission is to empower business entities to maximise the potential of our data and ultimately drive ClearScore’s business goals
  • As the Engineering Manager of the squad, you’ll manage a team of engineers, collaborating with them to ensure we are following best practices
  • You will work with analyst stakeholders in our Go-to-Market team to identify ways to automate and optimise their processes by building capabilities in dbt
  • ClearScore’s Data Mission is a dynamic collective of Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers who work collaboratively to ensure a landscape where team members can develop their full potential and deliver maximum business impact
  • ClearScore is a fast-paced environment, so we aim to support and coach each other in our journey to support our users
  • The Data Enablement Squad has been instrumental in delivering the migration to our new data platform
  • Now we’re nearing the end, we’re looking for someone to take them into a new era and deliver more value for our data platform users
  • Manage a squad of ~6 Data Engineers focused on Analytics Engineering
  • Collaborate with stakeholders
  • Be responsible for team delivery using Agile practices
  • Ensure the team is following best practices when developing software

Traditionally, lenders had a more 'computer says no' approach when it came to making loan decisions. With the wealth of data now available on people, credit assessment can be made smarter

Clearscore's approach has been to add on innovative products outside of credit scoring, e.g. helping consumers understand how to improve their financial position and offering car and home insurance
