Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, economics, or finance from a competitive school
- Highly Proficient in SQL
- 1-2+ years of experience using data to facilitate business or product decisions

Desirable

What the job involves
- The Data Team at Bird is an integral component of every facet of the business from strategic initiatives to tactical effectiveness, and is a key resource in developing Bird's product and processes
- As a Data Process Analyst you will support our internal team in our pursuit to make the cities we operate in more liveable, sustainable, and efficient
- You will work alongside a cross-functional team of all levels to make data insights accessible and understandable throughout the company
- Champion the analytics process - key business partner for Finance and Accounting. Support and maintain data products, including; QA, documentation, and ensuring reliability
- Lead by example and help educate business stakeholders with varying technical or non-technical backgrounds
- Leverage your experience and skills to distill and distribute highly reliable and actionable data and insights throughout the company
- Write ETLs to make product data consumable for our internal data and product customers
- Communicate via compelling, easy-to-use dashboards or analysis the state of our business and products, operational performance, experiment results, and potential opportunities for growth
- Represent the data team in communications and internal workshops on best practices for retrieving and measuring our business activity
- Influence and inform cross-functional teams through write-ups, meeting and presentations of data-based recommendations
- Conduct hands-on modeling/analytics retrieving, compiling, and analyzing large volumes of data from disparate databases into distilled, actionable information and insights
Our take
The demand for more eco-friendly urban transit solutions has been on the rise for a while now, and Bird is one of the companies that has answered this call. The company supplies lightweight, speed-capped electric vehicles for city travel - such as bikes and scooters.
Competition in the space has been famously fierce, but at one point Bird was one of the biggest companies of its kind. It was active in more that 450 cities worldwide, though it has since hit a rough patch. This saw the company exiting dozens of markets and ultimately declaring bankruptcy in 2023.
The company is now restructuring in hopes it can regain its footing, strengthen its balance sheet and position itself for long-term sustainable growth. Interestingly, Bird Canada was not part of its parent company's filing and continues operations as before.
