- The ideal candidate will be a results-driven, strategic thinker able to thrive in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment
- Exceptional candidates will have best-in-class predictive modeling and data skills including SQL, Python, Excel, dataset manipulation, data visualization, and presentation
- Proven record of predictive modeling and data-driven analyses, and delivering actionable insights that lead to measurable results
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM, or other analytical field
- 7 – 10+ years professional experience in quantitative predictive modeling and
- Experience in developing and maintaining clear documentation for models, model validation, project plans and processes
- Prior experience in strategy consulting, financial services, or start-up environments preferred
- Best-in-class data and programming skills including Python, R, SQL, Excel, dataset manipulation, data visualization, and presentation
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company
- An ownership mindset, experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, and proven record of successful, rapid execution
- Able to build relationships across the business to drive influence data-driven decision making
What the job involves
- The Director of Analytical Financial Modeling will conduct analyses focused on predicting, optimizing and understanding financial performance and key financial metrics
- This role is part of the finance team, and will collaborate cross-functionally within the organization to deliver actionable insights that help meet company goals
- Upon joining the team, a successful Director will quickly develop a deep understanding of the business, build and design the architecture for predictive settlement and collection models, and effectively communicate results and present recommendations to senior executives
- Own, design and build sophisticated data models to predict the KPIs of our products
- Build and lead a team of data and analytics professionals conducting financial analyses to inform a detailed financial operating model
- Leverage advanced analytics and AI/ML techniques to large data sets to measure results, identify causality, and predict future performance
- Develop KPI reporting and dashboards to clearly communicate trends and drivers that will impact future performance of the product
- Re-define and challenge company KPIs that are critical to achieving company and business unit performance goals
- Conduct and present data-driven analysis and recommend actionable opportunities for non-analytical partners
- Work closely with business leaders to prepare ongoing and ad hoc reporting and KPI measures
- Identify opportunities to efficiently organize and present key data and trends
- Train and mentor staff in financial/operational analysis and complex modeling
